I also had bent rear bulkheads. My TRF103 was parking on the side and got slammed from behind by a sedan(novice driver). His car was at full throttle. The bulkheads were bent and slightly twisted. At that time during TCS National, Tamiya America also did not have them in stock, so I had to do a special order from a hobby shop in Japan. I don't see a fix to it. Don't get hit from behind!

I wonder if the TRF102/RM01 bulkheads will fit?... they look very similar and never had issues with bending etc on the 3 different cars I have

interesting as i never had a problem with my 102 also.... i will investigate.....we will loose the ability to shorten the wheelbase but hmmmmmmm,......good thinking;)

This is very common with the F104 aluminum bulkheads, though it's usually very subtle. You have to check flatness on a glass plate or similar surface, but a lot of left side bulkheads will rock, showing a slight bend. Most cars with a "U" shaped left side bulkhead are susceptible to this. CRC cars will do this as well in a crash, and some guys use 2 motor side plates for strength (motor plates on the left and right sides)

I would use silver fronts, copper/pink/whatever color the softest side spring is. If silver fronts are too much, gold then. Soft springs lets the car roll within the suspension travel instead of flip.

If you want to try non Tamiya parts, Ride big bore red springs are excellent. CRC .45 mm is a good spring too.

What damper lube do you recommend with that setup?

Out here Edgar Fiallos is running super light damper lube 5,000, rear oil, side springs AE black soft, and Tamiya black front stiff springs, he's stupid fast.
He says the car has way too much steering and leans toward max rear grip.
I threw my asphalt set up car down with carpet 74/75 Pit tires, very similar to his carpet set up and it was really good, with work could be excellent too but I'm keeping it for asphalt. Superdialed.

I would second the 5K. One of the guys out here is using 5K as well. If you want it to be a little slower to react, or a little less steering, 7K would be good too.

this soft setup doesnt make sense to me. if there is grip wouldnt you want harder springs to make the tires work harder since they have so much traction?

You get less roll with stiffer springs. All that weight transfer has to go somewhere, and with all that grip...your car will traction roll. I know it sounds counter-intuitive at first.

When grip comes up, you take away traction from the front by running less sauce on the front tire or a less aggressive compound. You try and get some steering back with softer front springs. It will allow the car to roll more and you won't traction roll. This is my experience on high grip black carpet so robk is right.

Lately I have tried inline battery setup and placing massive weight on the front end, with stiff side and front springs. Actually getting no traction roll but the setup still takes some getting used to. This was on an X1 but I tried something similar with my TRF103 with T-bar and nearly matched my lap times. I've gone back to transverse battery on both. :D

i glue sidewalls pretty heavy to help with rolling... i guess if it works i will try it.

So I slightly bent the rear bulkhead again I was able to get it back to 99.9% and I designed this little brace to help it along ideally if I had a piece of carbon fiber that would be best but this seems to work okay for now very frustrating about the whole bulkhead thing and none are availablehttps://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...41875bc93a.jpg
