Ralf, Speedo: Thanks guys. I ran my Special last Saturday for the first time since last October, and realized that I had forgotten a few things. I couldn't even remember how to figure out gearing!

Geppetto: All well there? Back when i was running the special...last summer to be more precise...I found that the old plastic arms made the car a lot more consistent to drive. The best laptimes were the same with both but the times were much more consistent with the old arms.

I'll buy the Tosolini modified hub carriers and bit's and pieces when they become available from Yokomo(If they work well at the worlds)
If I tried to make them myself, it'd end in tears...

Are any of you guys using the 1 degree rear toe blocks for racing on asphalt with rubber tires? The last time I tried it I recall having oversteer problems. I would like to get away from the 2 degree blocks if possible.


kentech: How are things going for you? Is HPI treating you well?

Yeah, I'm getting along pretty well. In the past 3 or 4 months, I'd lost almost all interest in r/c. I only went out to race last weekend, because some friends wanted me to come out. My interest is a little more after last weekend, but no where near what it was last summer.

Since I have extras, I'll give the old arms a go.

M3: I race at the Hobbytown USA in Frederick, MD. It's 25 minutes away from my house, and they race on Saturday which works best for me.

Simon K: Thanks. It's good to be back "home". Since we only get to race touring cars on asphalt between the months of May - September, I don't have much to talk about during the winter (November - April).

RE: MIP Aluminum CVD's for the special:

I got them for the front, as the bones are cheaper than the Yokomo ones. The assembled MIP CVD is lighter than the assembled Yokomo unit.

Geppetto: HPI's been treating me well I have not done much racing myself since I went over here but I plan to make up for it this summer! I did 3 indoor races here, no practice and then I went to the LRP race agian like last year. As I had done no practice at all and had very limited experience with the car it did not go very well but I never expected that anyway. It was still a great experience just like last year.

I ran the 1 degree blocks on asphalt without any problems. I tried it with rubber last weekend for the first time using an old pair of Losi yellow compound slicks.

Axels is where most weight is gained...We have lightened drive-shafts, but the axels remain very heavy. I remember johnbull saying something about titanium racing making CVDs, I wonder if they make axels?

I would like specific instructions and Part #s of the mods to the yok both front and rear. Also what you guys are noticing the biggest diff to be in handling. It would also help if you sent some pics of the the mod and before mod, so I can recreate it.

Yes, very well done to Tamiya and Suri-whatshisname...

Yokomo's MR-4 already has a world championship, nice to see a car no-one expected to win doing so well.
