Im trying to decide weather or not the laydown is worth it ! My home track is very inconsistent, some parts of the track are hooked up and some parts of the track are loose. Also the track changes though out rounds, and from day to day. Would the laydown transmission be good on loose to med bite? Or shoould I just stick to the stand up to be safe? What are you guys thought? And past experiences ?
Thanks !

I just got a 22T 3.0 and was wondering the same. Our track surface is medium-loose grip. The local TLR pro runs a lay down in his 22T, but he told me that the standup works really well too. I'm just gonna run the standup at first and see how it goes.

If it's mod and not a small, tight track, I'd stick to standup.

Did a quick review of the laydown transmission for the 22T 3.0. I also noticed that they dropped the price to $60, so at that price I think it's worth getting. Old price was over $80 IIRC.

+ YouTube Video

Is the gear ratio in the lay down transmission the same as the standup?

Are the new kits coming with the updated ball cups, or do they have to be purchased separately? My local track's starting up a 13.5T stadium truck class on carpet, and unless I can find a used T5M for a straight trade, I'll probably be picking up a 3.0; already have a 22 3.0 so it ought to be an easy switch

Yes. It gets rid of the outer hole of the 3.0 camber block and adds a 0.5 spaced hole inner and outer from the original 3.0 inner hole.

Good question. I know all the buggy kits have the new ball cups but the ST probably depends on when it was packed. I have only had issues with the bent ball cups from the old ball cups. Just pick up a bag for 10 bucks of the new ones for spares just in case.

How do you know if you have the new or old ball cups, do they look the same?

The new ball cups have a little more material (webbing) on the side of the ball cup for extra durability.

Team Pink is correct and the hole for removing them is smaller.

I guess I'll have to post a photo of the cups when mine comes in. Bought in on the forums and didn't think to ask about the ball cups.
