Only thing that i see im keeping an eye on is the recommended gearing setup with a 16t pinion. Seems like it hits 120f 140f pretty easy using the rx8 gen2 with the 1900kv.
I'm running a 17t on my 1900kv motor, and temps are not an issue with 75° outdoor temps.

I started with the recommended setup on tekno's site, and adjusted from there.

It is here, too, but I cut my teeth on 1/10th 2WD... ebuggy is fun just for the gobs of power you have at your fingertips, but at the end of the day I love the surgical precision of 1/10

I'm the exact opposite. Don't care for indoors at all at the moment, and 0 interest in anything stock. You can see what I run for off-road in my signature below.

Does your esc temp ever get up to 120 140?

Nope, but I run my fan always on. Do so on all of my stuff.

Can't really tell by the bottle. usually you want to fill the diff to where the fluid is just above the crosspins.

The bottles didn't appear to be "factory filled" like a Losi kit would be. Meaning I doubt every bottle is exact filled by an automated process...but I could be wrong. My 10k bottle barely had enough to do both.

pretty sure they come with the same amount of diff oil in each bottle i guess i was just seeing if anyone elses are about the same after filling the diffs. I just hope i used enough diff oil and thats not the cause of my esc getting hot so quickly

Which I can understand, but I'm not big on spending my race days outside in 90% humidity and 90+ degree weather. So I mainly run indoors... and on the two indoor tracks at my disposal (Ohio R/C Factory and Sparks Park), ebuggy is just overkill.

Don't get me wrong, I totally get why ebuggy is so popular. The raw power is flat out intoxicating... but when I'm in the mood to race, it just doesn't quite do it for me the way 1/10 2WD and 4WD do. It lacks the touch/feel/precision that I love with my 1/10 scales.

Like I said, I'm not certain yet that I'm going to ditch the car. It's the best kit I've built alongside my XB4 (hell, my B6D is a very, very close 2nd - we're spoiled these days with these kits!) and it's a pleasure to drive. I've driven the B3e (not the .1), MBX7r Eco, and the MP9e... I'll take my box-stock 48.4 over those any day of the week. And driving it instantly made me a little quicker with my stock 2WD (I tend to get lazy behind the wheel in 2WD, and the 48.4 pushed me to get more aggressive). But I'm not the kind of guy who needs or even wants more than one or two vehicles to race and maintain. I actually hate racing more than one class... too much stress on race day.

So it's basically between the 48.4 and the XB4 as to which one I'm keeping and which one I'm selling. The fact that I can share batteries and rear tires between my 1/10 scales is a huge plus... and when it's hooked up and I'm in the zone, the XB4 puts a huge smile on my face. The 48.4 is stupid fun, but ebuggy just may not be my style when it comes to racing indoors.

I remember some bottles being more full than others when I built my SL kit. And I don't think a lack of fluid in the diffs would heat the esc up. Either way, it's not that bad if your ESC is getting to 140. I would worry if it was creeping beyond 160/170 Just keep the fan always on to be safe. They're not expensive to get replacements afterall.

My esc is set to 7.4v but on my radio on the telemetry voltage it says its pulling 8v my servo goes up to 8.4v but it says my receiver only goes to 7.4. Could this be a problem?

It alive!

All that's left is to cut the body and put it on the track. Shorter sensor wire on order. I have it wrapped twice under the motor for the photo.

Thanks to Tekno for such a solidly built car. The guy at the hobbyshop near me is a lower level sponsored driver for Associated and JConcepts. He and another guy were drooling over it when he was soldering it up for me (yes, I don't solder). He said he switched from his EB48.3 to Associated and is sorry he did. He said it breaks all the time when his Tekno never did. Raced his Associated at PNB and it broke something stupid in the main...said he was so pissed...just keeps breaking dumb stuff. Just traded his B64D away as well for a SCTE 3.0. Said he is going to get a 48.4 asap. The other guy there also said a 48.4 was his next purchase as well.
