I bought an MKS X6 HBL599 for my .4 and so far I am pleased with it. Has all the power in the world and it's quick and smooth.

I'm in the market for some servos and looked at the MKS HBL599 and I just can't get over the cost of them. It seems like $189.99 for a servo is crazy expensive.

Really love my ProTek 170s!!

I would look into ProTek or Highest (the company that makes the ProTek) I've been Running them for years and they work great and haven't had any issues.

I have no experience with hobbywing, I have only ran the Tekin RX8, and teh SMC ESC. For cost effectiveness, I would without a doubt grab the SMC.

I have the Protek 170s, and the highest dt2100 in a couple vehicls. My next servo purchase will be a proamps, Decently priced, and a 2 year warranty. They are new to the USA, but are very well respected overseas, and in in austrailia.

I use the Futaba S9372SV

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFSGA&P=M

Awesome specs at both 6V and 7.4V

please note however, its a fat servo, so it was a bit of a chore to squeeze it into the mount location.

Only shows specs and rated for 6v, not 7.4. For $150, I would expect the specs and design to be a bit better. And 1 year limited warranty. :(

Ah, I found it on futaba's site. 342 oz and .06 speed at 7.4v....Curious why Tower doesn't show the 7.4v specs....7.4v specs look better for buggy.

I'm using the Protek 150T. 1st time I fired it up it was so smooth and quiet compared to what I'm used to, Savox. Specs are very nice in either 6v or 7.4.

Nice! I still have my S6280 in my .3 Buggy so i can test some changes i have made to it. I am testing the same 150T in my .4 buggy. Its fast and smooth when testing on my living room carpet. I have not yet tested it outdoors or on the track.

Have you had any issues with how close the xr8 is mounted next to motor? Seems like a tight fit.

Thunder Trail 02-03-2017 08:36 AM

Lot of servo options these days. I'm still a big fan of Hitec because of the service experience. Outstanding performance and proven. I have 7950s in service nearly 4 years with only fresh grease on gears once a year. I'm a clean driver and do lots of preventative maintenance which helps.

I'll find out next sat how the servo does but I can't imagine not being satisfied.

Yes it is a bit close and I'll keep an eye on if I see rubbing. If I do I'll turn it with the caps facing out.

I thought it was a little slow compared to the Savox using the 89$ hobby wing esc. I guess my prob was it wasint getting enough voltage for the Spektrum.

"nvm i just looked at the spec's and it seems the Savox has better speed but no where near the torque the Spektrum has even at 6v"
