I think the date is off by a week at least. There is no manuals up yet and Associated is typical to posting up 2 weeks before the car arrives to USA.

FWIW Amain is still showing that it is arriving 2/1. I guess time will tell.

There is very little profit margin in kits. Tower is likely losing money on these kits. The promotion is designed around the hope that you spend that $71 you saved (or much more) on higher margin items to go along with the kit.

If the LHS has a track, giving away track time is often useful to sell goods (tires, motors, parts, etc.), so that can work out well.

Even with $70 off they still make money just a lot less.

I hope it comes out this week Eli as Tower will have the e-cash promo this week I am sure. I might have to wait till March month's promo then.

Anyways on another note - How dare they announce the F1 car before we get our hands on this Buggy!

What purpose do gullwing arms serve, other than to make less impact on droop when changing shock positions?

I understand that this is a tuning option on the B5/6 2wd cars, but without a definition of the change in geometry, it seems like "mystery meat"..

The only thing I know 4 surtain is, gull wing allows the shock and tower to be lower = a lower center of gravity. I was told it affects steering, but I am not sure how.

I just double checked their site still says it... Im just saying that it says 2/1, not saying for certain that it will be there on 2/1.

just waiting for a car

Just noticed our german distibutor (LRP electronic) states 13th March as date of availability.

Hope that only counts for germany since I ordered mine at Tower... :tire:

Pardon the silly question, I run a 17.5 B6 on Carpet (DRPRC.com) the LRC stuff I completely understand. And with that setup, I run a Exotek slipper eliminator.

Why would the carpet muncher feature a slipper and not a center diff? I mean with velcro like traction, where wheel spin just doesnt happen, why a slipper? (I am thinking of the slipper in terms of the 2wd where it could be used to limit wheel-spin)

I'll get my popcorn out :D

No, seriously, I just wondered that our availability date here in Germany differs by a month from Towers. Quite a long time.

Had to wait half a year for my SC5m ordered in Dec'15, that's why I'm a bit concerned, that's all :)

Center diff allows power to be split front of rear, ideal for low traction. Slipper is better for high traction where it's more direct drive. No need to split power front or rear. You want that instant power.

curious how the stock AE pads (assuming the same ol material) will hold up. Ended up going with Garolite style pads in 2wd and loved em especially on high traction.

I am guessing that testing didn't show any positive effect from using a center gear diff. A slipper protects the drive line (on-throttle landings, etc.), same as on high traction dirt.
