I feel the Pro4 Class is doing well here locally. The only two classes that always run are Pro4 and E-buggy. Few races a year 2wd buggys show up, maybe 4wd buggy. Sometimes enough Nitro guys show up for a class. When I travel to other tracks its totally different. Some tracks change up classes over the 4 seasons or summer and winter. That keeps the 2wd buggy, 4wd buggy and 2wd SCT alive. I think it helps to change it up like that, but local racers who pay the bills to keep tracks open will ultimately decide. This class is fun and people from all walks of life are fans of trucks. Its not going to die anytime soon, but it has lost some ground. Just the cycle of all RC racing over the years.
If my local track raced pan cars I would run it. Not my kind of surface, but you go with the flow if you want to join the fun.

I'm 4 shocks away from test run. Here are the things I have noticed so far.
- Front A Arms are thick, beefy in a good way
- Plastic nylon front caster blocks are plenty thick as well. Should never break
- Ball bearing ackerman is well made with 0 slop
- Front gearbox seems thicker and has more clearance near pinion for rod ends
- Rod ends directly off 8ight 2.0 buggy. Thinner height, less bind at top and bottom of suspension travel. On my 2.0 and it works
- Black Ring and pinon gear update is nice, good upgrade for 2.0
- The front ring and pinion needed 0.1 shim to get backlash right
- The rear ring and pinion needed 0.6!!! shims. Aluminum bearing holders might help here.
- Front sway bar is largest diameter that will fit. I don't think that's going to work for me and my tracks, but test it first.
- The front shock tower seems massive/thick in a good way
- The small plastic piece on tower for front bumper is too soft. Snugging bolts crushes it like butter. 2.0 part seems stiffer
- The rear hubs and front look strong, graphite impregnated? Bearings wont wallow out hubs
- Chassis stiffeners seem well thought out. MIP aluminum standing by
- Diff spider and crown gears look same, but might just be different material
- Diff washers don't look any better, so i installed the X-Ray washer upgrade. perfect fit, bulletproof and smooth
- Black o-rings are softer and seem to be less drag
No doubt there are big upgrades on this truck. Time will tell if they work better. I have a lot of experience with these trucks and this looks like a great rig. I'll be keeping my 2.0 a while until I know what is what. I do see all the upgrades worthy of installing on 2.0 as parts wear. Other than soft front plastic piece the front bumper bolts to and the large amount of shims needed for rear diff ring and pinion it looks like a great rig. Best one they have made yet!
Almost Forgot.... The lack of clamping hexes is beyond me. No way I can not update to clamping hex.

So if the +4 cups aren't in the option parts bag then I didn't receive them?
I built the kit to the standard setup
With the collars threaded all the way down I have approx 24mm chassis to ground clearance

Manual shows the kit build requires +4 cups front and rear on page 40, shock pics at the bottom of the page. This shows the kit should have come with all four +4 cups to start with. That might be all you need to get proper ride height, but sounds like your springs may also be too soft or out of spec.
***Manual also shows wrong part number for the rear spring cup. It shows TLR231021. Team Losi Racing 22-4 Center & Rear Belt Cover Set. I can't find one place on my truck to put this belt cover
Stuff happens, but no big deal if you are aware.

Still haven't made it to the track
Other than the shocks the truck seems solid
A little soft but hopeful the +4 cups
will fix that

Race report....
I wish it was a little different. I ran my 3.0 about 3 minutes of practice and truck handled great. Suspension working correctly with new Red springs and +4 cups. Truck took corners tight and was stable at speed. Part of that was the lower power I had as my electronics slowly died. I missed first round of qualifying trying to swap out each electrical component to find the problem. After determining it was the ESC I had no time to do the swap and I had two trucks in pieces. I looked at my 2.0 and decided that was the fastest way to get something on the track to savage the day. I made couple of changes I got from the 3.0 experience and went on to TQ and win the main. Next time I hope to do that with 3.0 as the 2.0 needs some new parts and maintenance.

How can you tell if you have the +4 cups or not?

im guessing you have 4 in your kit
im guessing you have 4 in your kit, if they all look the same then you will have the +4, if like in my kit two of them look obviously shorter then the other two then you know the longer ones are the +4 versions

Hi All
I am going to run a practice day at a mixed surface 8th track. I am used to running only on high3er grip astro and carpet so far so could use some recommendations on tyres, inserts and a starting truck setup please.
