Anybody knows whats the weight difference in a gear diff (with 2 satellite gears inside) and ball diff?

Thanks, so should I run the diff screw all the way in then bring out 1/8 turn and then adjust from there or just fully tightened when running with s slipper eliminator

I've always recommended setting an AE ball diff per the instructions- gently bottom out the screw, then back off 1/8 turn. If you run it with the screw bottomed out, it'll be tighter and have tighter action, which may be desirable for handling, but it will wear out much faster.

It is very hard to damage or quickly wear out a properly assembled ball diff with a 17.5 under any circumstance. Carpet racing is fairly new but high traction is not. The design is well proven.

Just follow AE instructions. Tighten down all the way, back off an 1/8th. Break in and re-check. I run slipper eliminator and never had any issue. I will say that I do prefer the way a gear diff feels on carpet, but nothing wrong at all with running a ball diff on the rug.

AE sells them. 12mm is diameter, then you have front and rear. They come in sets of 3 and are grouped according to stiffness

Can anyone tell me if the hudy setup station fits the b6? looking at the description it says 4.7mm axles, which this car has 5mm it seems. if not what about the arrowmax?

Silberpfeil 01-11-2018 10:38 PM

The Hudy station fits mine just fine. It's a 2 year old set up station though so I'm not sure if they've changed anything since I got mine.

I use the RC Speed Secrets B6 fan mount. It's made to fit the WTF fan or similar size. It is fantastic and very secure. I tried the tape several times and it always eventually comes loose.

Great info thanks !
