i am also of the thinking.. rear ECS shafts are a waste.. #1, the car dont have near enough droop to affect the angle.. the up travel.. isnt that much either.. so.. i would find a better way to use that money..

on this car.. there doesnt seem to really need alot of upgrades.. my car is still stock.. except the spur gear..

This was mentioned over on the 4wd thread. When it comes to replace the rear shafts, the cost to do so is about the same as the ecs so you might as well get them at that time.

I ordered the slipper eliminator last night. I am so happy to run 17.5 on this buggy

I'm in the market for a new 2WD and 4WD, curious if anyone can voice an opinion on Xray competitiveness at your local track compared to AE and Losi..?

The 4wd is more than competing her against all the major brands, and is winning often. When the dirt edition finally is in the hands of people I believe it will also be just as competitive as any other car you could buy and on the podium as well.

The carpet has been really good on higher bite clay and I can assume the dirt will be just as good for lower bite tracks.

Cars build super well, manuals are incredible, super durable parts, high quality. Parts are more expensive, however they're considerably stronger than Losi and AE parts and last a lot longer before they get worn out.

Great information, thank you

We had a guy stop at our track after running turf, threw down the xb4 and took second on clay with an astro setup. The xb2 dirt edition should be sweet when it comes out but my local track is in more of a TLR vs AE vs Kyosho battle

There's the problem with that question. I think Xray is the best car out there from several points of view including design and quality. However, when you go to a big race how many Xrays are on the podium? How many Xrays are even racing?? At our track the XB4 has been dominating but, my buddy who owns the track has been running my spare car. He's sponsored by Kyosho and his ZX6 just arrived. Xray might take 2nd or 3rd now but nobody is going to beat that ZX6 and my buddy. He could beat most of us with a Traxxas Bandit. Any car is competitive with a competitive driver. If you buy an Xray the car is definitely not going to hold you back.

In order to run the DE gearbox on the CE car you need everything except the shock towers, ball differential and chassis side guards ;)

Bent

Are the shock mounting holes on the composite towers the same as what is on the graphite towers?

Heh, that was me. TRCR is not easy to do well at on a layout all the regulars know well - actually it's not easy to do well at ever! I think that Brandon Collins is getting an XB2 for stock racing.

Great upgrade for battery holder. I don't know why xray they didn't make battery holder like that instead foam spacer.
