I run the SMC 3600mAh packs with the tekin T8i indoor motor and make a 10 min main fine. They are half the weight of the normal batteries and that will affect your setup, so switching back and forth probably wont work too well.

I run the 6500 in my full EB48.3, the 6700 extended in my ET48.3, and either the 2s 7200 or the 4s 3600 in my SL. A 5200 should easily get you through a 10 minute main, but may not keep you happy with a 15 minute practice run, depending on track conditions and how you drive. With the 6500 I've actually made a 20 minute club main with the nitros, but had to drive conservatively to do it.

No I meant the RX8 set up on the eb48.3 with the drag brake and timing and settings. Can't find that anywhere.

This is still basically the same as Lutz uses now. Drag Brake does get adjusted per track based on the feel he wants. http://www.teamtekin.com/hotwire/esc...nLutz_v249.pdf

Using 5300mAh batteries in both buggy and truggy (same battery), I get 17 to 18 minutes in buggy and 15 to 17 minutes in truggy during practice.

yeah it sounds like its worth the extra money to get the slightly higher capacity, they will also recharge faster if I dont take them nearly down in smaller pack.

Im gonna be running them with a trackstar esc and motor or tekin gen2, havent decided yet

Thanks justpoet. Wow that's huge amount of drag break. Will try this To see how it feels.

It can help. I run between 5 and 10 most of the time. The only time it messes me up is if there are really big jumps and I forget to hold a little throttle. Some of my drag brake induce lawn darts have been pretty epic.

I run a SMC 6500mah in my setup and I get about 20 minutes of run time which is pretty nice. Also thanks to all of you guys that answered my questions about racing.

I only use SMC. I have a 6500 and a 5000. If you're going to do any ROAR Races, get the 6500 and stay with it.

I don't use Tekin ESC but I'm curious as to what that setting translates too? Does 11 translate to 11%?

wittyname 03-17-2016 08:39 AM

In you use the hotwire to program it , it uses the term "value" . In the manual , when you program it on the esc it uses the term "degree" . What that actually means I couldn't tell you

I bent on in my first race with it and I've just found one on the front. I'm really not liking this trend. This car has only been raced 4 times. I ran a whole season with my sworkz and only bent one on that car during a fast head on when another buggy crossed the pipe onto the straight. I just don't understand how a car of this quality has this issue. Are they just too long for a buggy?

Very cool, I like the ones that keep things in perspective.

For me I just adjusted the travel of the rear shock to make it shorter with the downstop screw on the rear arms. It's seems to be working well so far.
