Welcome to the EB48.3 Wiki

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

Springs:
Low Grip Track:
TKR8772 – Yellow Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8762 – Grey Low Frequency Front Springs

Low to Medium Grip Track:
TKR8773 – Orange Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8763 – Black Low Frequency Front Springs

Medium to High Grip Track:
TKR8774 - Red Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8764 - Pink Low Frequency Front Springs

TKR5199B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, EB/NB/ET/NT48/48.3) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Able to be on power earlier on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6017T (front)
-TKR6061T (rear)

This car is very durable. Here are the spare parts that I recommend you keep on hand:
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR6061T – Rear Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating and TKR6017T – Front Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating
TKR5286 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5184 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5194 – Spindle Carriers
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Page 3 Step K-3
Put the screw in upside down so that the head of the screw is in the hex spot that's molded into the spindle. This will aid in clearance in full droop / full steering.

Page 12 Step I-2
Use no less than 4 shims on the steering spindle to limit steering throw. I actually just use one 2mm ball stud washer from my 10th scale stuff since each shim is .5mm.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here.

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

Does the inside of the car get dirtier than before the body modification? I drive on a track with a lot of loose dirt on top. I don't want to constantly have to clean my electronics off if I don't have too. Cleaning the rest of the car is tedious enough, thats all.

Thanks for all the advice!!
I didn't notice the car any dirtier than normal.

No, the inside of mine doesn't get any dirtier with the front body mod. I wouldn't like that either. I hate when the outside gets as dirty as in the pics, but I just had a much needed practice session and the track was dry and dusty.

I was just wondering if people have any experience breaking outdrives in the front. I've broken my second or third one, and for the life of me i don't know why. a few of them weren't really even in hard landings so i don't get why the metal would break. It's happened in my Nt48.3 as well. I've had 5 different brands of kits and these are the first times i've broken outdrives.

That's strange. Been driving my EB48.3 for 2 years and ET48.3 for over a year and haven't broken an outdrive. Only bent a few shock shafts.

I know it's weird, there a couple of other Eb48.3's at my track and they don't break outdrives as well. I've rebuilt the front a few time and it still does it. I can't figure it out. This whole is really frustrating.

How is the wear on the pins? Once outdrives and pins get really heavily worn, they can possibly "catch" since they don't move as smoothly.

The Pins are fine, i don't get to use electric as much because we do mostly nitro. So the kit is pretty fresh.

Default EB48.3 vs EB48.3SL

Going to be jumping into the ebuggy scene & I'm not sure what I should get, my home track is indoor 2S but I travel often so would the super light work or should I go with a normal ebuggy

Are the front and rear clips (arms, diff, suspension, etc) the same between the EB48.3 and the NB48.3?

The rear gearbox on the NB.3 is offset, otherwise the rest is the same. The EB.4 and NB.4 have the same rear clips minus the gearing.

Grab the full buggy, it will excel outdoors, and doesn't do bad indoors on 2s either.

Default In a bind

The front suspension arm pulls on the hub carrier half way thru the suspension travel and continues the rest of the way causing a bind, had anyone fixed this problem?. I thought it was the drive shaft binding in the diff outdrive but it's not. Also the universals don't make a god dam difference to the binding.

Yes, a little shave with a dremmel resolves the issue. On the track, I think maybe it's not as much of an issue.

What is better for a bumpy track a flat 8x1.3 piston or the stock conical. Also has anyone experimented with the new .4 steering and how do you like it vs the origional.
