Or use the new associated kashima coated shocks via Fox racing.

I dont get why associated doesn't even offer the gold shock shafts as part of the kit anyone. For this price, it really should at a MINIMUM come with gold (TiN) shock shafts. The Kashima coated ones would be rad but the shock body inst as important as the shaft itself (as in in real life with dirbikes and your tool in your pants.. haha)

The coating makes the shock shaft last longer(wear) vs chrome which ads smoothness. It's a trade off. I prefer the smoothness of the chrome.

You guys are missing the big picture. Kyosho's prices are coming down and AE is now offering high end parts. Right now it costs about the same for an RB6 or a comparable B5M with the higher end shocks etc. I think a price war is coming. I switched over because I actually like the b5m and as a dealer its half the money (I love my T5M too) but I still have 1 of each of the Kyosho cars and if the prices get close I would consider switching back. Its a tough call. The new AE cars are really good.

I was never a fan of my B4.2...hated it for quiet some time actually but the new 5 series Associated cars are really friggin good. My T5M is one the best RC's i've ever driven in 20 years. Associated has really stepped up their game with the high end offerings and in my opinion do it right as an upgrade options. Getting into a K car kit is a huge hit on the wallet right off the bat. Frankly 90% of the racers out there don't need or can feel the difference between the super high end goodies...including me.

Thats somewhat true. I think more guys will notice something like shocks a lot more than you think. What they wont notice are these little things like the difference between adding 5 grams to the tranny vs 10 grams. Or running 27.5 weight shock oil over 30 weight. a 5 weight jump would be noticeable, but not a 2.5 weight.

So how much better will this handle than the SC10.2? I have the 10.2 and I have yet to keep the rear end from being whipped with the stock gull wing arms. I have the SC10 straight arms and the handling is way better but i snap an A arm every time I spend the day at the track. I am going broke buying A arms.

Will wait and see how this truck turns out.

Lol! Going broke buying $7 arms...
But seriously, boil the plastic arms or buy RPM front arms or just stop hitting stuff.
The SC5M I am sure will be a 500% improvement over the SC10.2, IF it is like the B5M and T5M!

Boil water, drop in arms for 5 minutes, season for taste!

Well not broke exactly, but you got the point

I did not hit anything, but broke (2) on Thursday night.

Sounds like the way we had to boil the old nylon props to relieve the internal stresses. I will give a try on the 2 packs I have. Will order a set of the RPM's as well.

Looking forward to this new truck.

Pre-ordered mine at my local track. Does anyone know the actual date? Besides sometime in July.

My guess is they'll drop at the very end of June or 1st week of July. In time for the Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout. I can't wait!
