Does anyone know if the xfactory carbon fiber chassis can be swapped with the aluminum chassis directly? Or is the entire infinity setup required? I'd think you could do it but wanted to confirm. Anyone have experience using this setup? Is it worth the money?

Yes. Actually I just sold mine on here about a month ago. Yes it's a direct swap. Nothing more needed. It was very nice, however for me running on carpet it wasn't helping. The Chassis has lots of flexibility even at its stiffest setting. When it comes to running on carpet (high grip) I don't recommend it. For clay and dirt it probably works well.

Default Returning guy

I built an SC5M for driving on a clay track a few years ago. It was my first build and I was still learning how to drive r/c. Then I got sick and was unable to enjoy any of my hobbies.
it took a few years and several trips to doctors around the USA to get better but now I’m back.
The clay track has been closed and now a brand new carpet track has opened. I see the SC5M has been discontinued and from this forum, I see that some parts are out of production. Should I try to get this car working on carpet or put it on the shelf and start over?

What tires are people running on carpet. The hobby shop wants me to use Proline Wedge 10147 on front and Pyramid 10154 on the rear. The radius of these is much larger than the jconcepts tires I used outside. The body rubs on them badly making an awful racket and dragging it down on corners

91414 is the rear hub kit (as mentioned) and in that kit are the plastic inserts (2-hole/3-hole) that go on the ball stud side of the hub, 91416 is the blue aluminum nut that goes on the back of the hub that the ball stud screws into, they are not included in the 91414 kit … they are both discontinued, but available still on Ebay … if you just need a couple of either, send me a PM, let me know what you need and I can check, I should have a few … an alternative part # would be 91418, which is the rear hub used on the ProSC10, Reflex and Trophy Rat, the do not use either the plastic insert or the aluminum nut, they are solid plastic that you screw the ball stud into ...

Default Ball Diff Measurement

Perhaps one of you out there that still runs a SC5M could help me out next time you have the diff out of the gearbox. If I could get a measurement of the outdrives flanges (outside~outside) that would be much appreciated.

Just checked 3 I had loose, they are from B5m, T5m, and SC5m … which would all be interchangeable... and they range from 15.52 - 15.61mm … I almost always need to use the Associated 1733 shims to set the diff properly in the trans ...

I'm not sure if this will be of any help to anybody, but if you're trying to fit a body on your SC5M that needs the rear body posts moved back, you can retro an SC6.1 rear body mount pretty easily. The 4 mounting holes are all in the right spot. The only difference is that the male pins surrounding those mounting holes are a different length and width than those on the SC5M mount. I trimmed their length down to match the SC5M posts, and didn't worry about the different diameter. Once tightened in place with the rear bumper all mounted up, everything is nice and rigid and now I have body posts that are further back.
