Welcome to the SCT410.3 Wiki!

7.26.17 - BB
In order to run the recommended team setup, you need the following optional parts:
TKR6106 Orange LF Springs
TKR6114 Green LF Springs
TKR6018 composite shock caps (built to emulsion) OR TKR8702 Aluminum Emulsion Shock caps
TKR8027 Shock Stand Offs
TKR6051 8x1.3 pistons(drilled to 1.4mm)
TKR8104 .4 bellcranks
TKR8100 .4 ackerman
TKR5545B HRC Hubs
You also need the Aluminum C Block (others can stay composite)

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

TKR5161 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “A” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5163 – V2 Adjustable Hinge Pin Brace “C” block, 7075 CNC, EB/NB/ET/NT/SCT) - Helps to improve durability on hard crashes.

TKR5545B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, SCT.3/SL) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Allows harder acceleration on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6004T (front)
-TKR6017T (rear)

What spare parts should I keep on hand?
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR5516 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5515 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5542 – Spindle Carriers - TKR5541B Spindles
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Use steering stops/limiter washers... more info here.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here. Please be sure to try our recommended setup. It works very well on most tracks.

Hinge Pin Insert Chart:

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

I don't have personal experience with Fioroni pistons so I can't give you a good starting point. If you think 25 sounds good then start with that and drive it on the track and see how it feels. Changing shock oil is a pretty easy/quick setup change so if it's too light just go up 5 or 10 wt and rerun. Continue tuning until you get it where you want it. Biggest thing to remember is that it will feel softer on the bench then the old truck truck with the old arms so be sure to run it before assuming it's too soft to work well.

So I put my order in at towers for the new 410.3 last night😀. This truck is going to be used primary for club racing, 10 min races. I'm going to be running the hobbywing sct 3400 combo on 3s. I plan on ordering some smc 4300mah lipos today. My question is how long of run times should I expect? Should I buy a bigger lipo?

Thx guys

I'd say keep may weight of the lipo to the same as a 7000+mah 2S setup. from there see what is out there for 3S usage. I think in general that is what I am hearing guys do.

Cain is correct. Side to side balance is a bit off. I run a 6500 mah and had to still add a bit of weight to the back left corner to get things balanced. Wish I had gotten the 7200mah.

Thanks for the advice guys. Anyone have a idea how long of run times I will get with the 3s 4300mah? Just want to make sure I can easily make a 10min race

Great isn't it? I raced this truck for the first time this weekend and over a year since pulling the trigger on a car. I didn't know a car could tumble like mine did and survive.

Default Wheel Choice

While waiting for my truck, I got my wheels/tires glued up. I noticed the wheels I picked (Avid Sabertooth) are much more pliable/easier to squish than what I have used on my SC10 (JConcepts, AKA, AE). I imagine this could have a large affect on overall handling and be frustrating changing from one set to the next. Does anyone have any experience with different wheels and how it affects handling? I have done some quick searches but can't find much.

Data point for reference to those of us still waiting and checking hourly...order March 31, not shipped yet (Tower).

Ordered my 410.3 over a month ago from Tower Hobbies. They still have not shipped it. I understand completely that this is an extremely popular kit and it could take some time to get it in. I am very bummed to here that Tower had some in stock, in limited quantities, yet I still havent had mine sent out. I am waiting patiently and am looking forward to racing it this season.

If you want the truck now, both Stormer and Amain are showing the kits in stock, and there might be other online retailers that have have them as well.

I don't think they handled the preorders correctly. I preordered over a month ago too... yet got no updates when they got a batch in stock last week. Looking at my backorders page it said both "backordered" and "in stock" at the same time. So I dropped the backorder, reordered immediately, saved an extra $10 ($60 coupon -> $70 coupon) and got email that it shipped the next day.

If I had waited 24h would it maybe have shipped from backorder anyways? Possibly. But if things were working properly then everyone with a backorder should have got a shipping email before things showed as in-stock for the rest of the world (like how Amain works)
