alright so our outdoor track has a strong likely hood of going turf this year.

What setup right now appears to be a great starting point to go with?

Any suggestion on tires?

There are many set-up sheets to match a variety of conditions on petitrc:
Yokomo YZ2, YZ2CA, YZ2DT & YZ2DTM Setup Sheets
I liked this one:
Yokomo YZ2DTM - Sylvain Gallo-Selva - French Nationals - Meyrargues - 08.04.2017

sounds good will keep that one in mind!

Do you have any suggestions RP springs to go with instead of what is listed there as a starting point with that setup?

Hence why we tape our batteries in and ditch the brace.

Finally did the steering mod on my yz2dtm (ca conversion). Will be going back to the stock setup. Felt like the steering is slower and even with endpoints adjusted it just does not seem to have even close to the same turning radius.

I haven't tried the RP springs on astro yet, but I think I'd start with orange all around.

Ditto here- I drive yoks cause they steer why the heck would I dull it out? Also don't like running with taped battery packs, rear end flexes too much. At least on carpet, probably work great in the dirt though.

that to me is a very nice selling point feature. It would have been great for the new versions to have something like this unless I am missing it.
Several new salaries to pay on the marketing side that they have recently taken on.

I tried the worlds waterfall in my DTM on carpet last Friday. It seemed to take away quite a bit of front end, so I went back to the standard three-bar kit waterfall (and gained 3 tenths!).

agreed on carpet no need for taped in packs, but on clay its highly beneficial to not have that brace back there, especially if its not the highest of high bite clay. My track just did a rebuild and its 100% clay and super tacky where slicks are the only tire that works, so i'll probably put the brace back in since its super close to carpet bite.

Gonna throw a 3 gear standup in my CA for some outdoor so I’ll probably try it.

quote from Lutz at IOCC 2017, he quotes Maifield:
and Maifield gave us a lot of feedback on things he noticed and what he personally does for such high traction carpet. There was some things that we simply couldn’t change for this past weekend. He said our body was way to heavy and possibly to high as well. (For sure something we will look into for the future). Also he gave us lots of comments on roll centers and what he likes on his cars. On top of it all said how important it is to have the car flex as much as possible. (Basically he could take his cars and make the shock tower touch if he wanted to it’s so flexible. Now we couldn’t go so extreme at this race as our parts supply was limited if something were to happen, but it just goes to show you what lengths the pro’s go to, to get an edge on the track.)

No idea why he would want that much flex on high grip. Odd to me coming from onroad. And from what I’ve experience racing high grip carpet.

Hello all,

A lot of interesting talk about outdoor racing and set-up options....I noticed I still have this around in a parts bag if anyone is interested in trying a 4 gear stand-up.
