Kyosho has always been crazy with their prices. Yokomo blows them away on quality.

Also I don't know why everyone likes kyosho shocks so much I think the Yokomos are as good if not better.

I just picked up 2 sets of the exotek slipper eliminators with 2 sets of the spur gears for both my yoks. I have to say that the spurs are super light and true, can't wait to race on saturday.

I've never understood why people will spend $100 + more on a kyosho kit when you can have a better product for less money with another brand .

Need advice..... I am starting my build and want to know whether a low profile servo is better than a standard servo for weight purposes for this buggy. I will be racing on an indoor small ozite track with small jumps..lap time approx. 14 seconds.

For weight purposes, as mentioned, no, for ease of electronics fitment, it's nice to have.

I started running the car with a shorty, but ended up going with a fullsize Xpert servo and havent gone back to a shorty servo since.

I bought a low profile servo for just this reason. Get the low profile servo...you can always add weight if you want/need to.

Hi guys,

Wanting to get back into 2WD RC after a long break. Seems these cars now are getting quite specialized. I love the look of the Yokomo and they make awesome cars, better quality and value than any other kit once you've added the upgrades to the same alloy and carbon bits found on a stock YZ2 kit.


My question is would the YZ2 be adaptable to surfaces from Astro, which by most accounts is whats it was designed for, to loose dirt (Outdoor) type tracks? I've seen guys putting the other rear suspension from the B-Max to aid in loose dirt....Is this an option? or have the guys just not tried to set up the std kit yet because most races aren't on any loose surfaces now days?
I think the future of RC will become Astro and Carpet as it makes sense but we only have a local outdoor track for now that's dusty. We are looking at getting an Astro track and then we also want to create a carpet track that can be set up at malls to create public interest. Hoping the YZ2 can do all I expect...

Not to thread bomb, the yz2 is an amazing car and I loved it on carpet. If you want a car for Astro/carpet to dirt/clay I would go with the Xray xb2. You can set the car up for high traction carpet to low bite dirt rear motor setup. Yes you can also get the conversion for the yz2 but it's not the same at all. Either way you can't go wrong though.

The stock pistons #'s 1,2,3. What do those equate to with the X-Shock pistons?

Also, what's the Internal Ratio of the YZ2?
