If you get the 7R F/R universals you will also need the new front hub carriers so you can run a trailing front axle and new rear uprights. The rear arm was also changed to clear the new universal.

Just do the shocks and rear tower...chassis and universals are not needed.. U can upgrade the universals if you break a axle.. Maybe the steering slider but also not needed.. Just do the shock setup and you will be happy

about Front Universal :

it's possible to use those cheaper ofna Front Universal on the mbx7r eco :

http://www.nitrohouse.com/Front-Univ...-2_p_8026.html I
I checked the size and it's exactly the same. only difference are the pins : mugen uses 3mm, ofna uses 2.5mm pins. So you'ill have to switch to other pins/hexes.

The ofna are cheaper and thicker ! you won't bend them like the mugen's...

here the mugen:
http://www.nitrohouse.com/Front-Univ...R_p_17192.html

other mugen part I changed : the steering has some issues with the suspension travel : the 6.8 mm pivot ball don't allow enough angle to the plastic rod end.
So the steering squicks and bends when the droop is quite high but not even at its maximum.

so I use those 6.8mm hobao hyperstar "thinner neck", like here :

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hyper-Star...-/191105845347

The steering doesn't bind anymore at high droop !

I added 2mm ball stud washers under my steering rod ends to help with binding at full droop. I did this with out research and seems to work. I just eye balled the effects , any feed back on this would be nice

Anyone have trouble with pillow ball nuts coming out? I lost one nut last meet, replaced them and now I've lost another this meet. I am doing them up to the point just before the steering starts to bind up. I don't know what else I can do other than Loctite? This is on the older M-Spec.

check out how much toe out the steering gets when the suspension fully compressed.
but, after all, it might help steering when turning while braking !!

ski are meant for 2wd cars. you will need more work to adapt it on a 4wd car...

let's continue the thread !

to achieve maximum steering, i trimmed some plastic for the hubs ! now it steers like kung fu !!

Default New to 1/8 scale

This is something i have always wanted to try but the cost held me back. I found a mbx7 and the price was right so i bought it.

I have been racing 1/10 indoor for 6 years now so im in no way new to the hobby, but are there any glaring differences ill need to keep an eye on when it comes to 1/8 scale vs 1/10?
