T5M center battery conversion
Hey I need some help from you AE guys please. Looking to try something new and move battery to center position instead of sideways . Like the TLR has. Any help with part numbers or what I can do would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I've seen people clip the center braces out to put batteries in lengthwise. Something about centering the weight, but I think it's smoke & mirrors. I believe the real advantage of snipping the braces would be to introduce more flex in the chassis. Not that I'm an advocate of doing this. I've seen faster guys than me who also haven't seen a need to do it either.

Anyone experience wheel chatter with their T5m going through fast sweepers? My track has a wide radius, long sweeper with a few undulations, and I have observed the inner front wheel chattering back and forth.
The truck has glued trailing inserts, a high torque servo and good bearings, and my b5m is totally planted in the same corner. Is this a stadium truck thing, or something wrong with my setup?

Your buggies front tires are also about 1/10th the width of your trucks tires.
Does it effect the performance? Probably not.

If you think about it a battery side ways in chassis the weight is still centered it is just weight location is farther to the rear, if you cut center braces and go battery in line on center weight is still centered you will just be taking away rear weight and moving some of it forward. so in all reality you will be redistributing weight front to rear and not actually changing the centering of it.

I have run the world inline set up on my T5m and it works great. but I am using a Plan B carbon fiber chassis with brass c mount. I'm had to also use a shorty servo.

only thing inline battery is going to do is make truck change direction a tiny bit more quickly and it will feel more like you can move the truck around when air born. i found that the consistencey that set up lacks was a good enough reason to go back so the sideways configeration. this was in a buggy but im guessing it would be almost the same feel in a truck. id stick with stock set up as far as battery. i run chad due sc set up in my stadium and the truck is really good. well close to his set up.what is it you are trying to change in the feel of your truck?

Ti screws drop a good bit of weight. XFactory carbon fiber chassis is another. Just look at everything you have. Servos and speedos have different weights as well as batteries.

Finished my T5M build this weekend... Man it has exceeded my expectations.. I have not raced since the late 90s.. Yes I'm old..
Anyways have the time to get back into it and all I can say is this thing is awesome..
Smooth.. Planning on heading to the track this weekend for some pactice runs.
I'll post some pics when I get some time!

Just got the esc and rx in my T5M, hoping to get it together tonight and drive it tomorrow. My real truck is ripped apart in my driveway though, so priorities...we'll see.
