Well raising the front helped a little, but it still wanted to nose over on a couple of the jumps. Definitely need stiffer springs on the front. I also notice that my front ball cups are not moving to freely, so I'm sure that isn't helping. Crazy thing is my lap times were a second quicker than the TQ pace at our last race. Definitely loving this truck sofar

Well, finally got some wheels in at the LHS, so I took it out on it's maiden trip around the track yesterday.
For being mid motor on an outdoor dusty clay track, it didn't feel that bad. Defiantly a different driving style than my RM buggy, but I think in a good way. It almost fits my driving style better. I'm more of a line guy than I am a throttle into the corner, brake, then punch kind of a guy.
I didn't have a lot of time as the quals were about to start, but I am REALLY excited about this thing. I can't wait to get it dialed in. Also looks like ST is starting to pick up a little bit. I (so far) am the only one in our area that is driving a T5m. Last night there was a guy with a GT2 out there, with a few other guys saying "Oh, your gonna start running that? Im going to bring mine out of the closet now"...
One thing I did notice that was wierd to me, was that I have the same electronics setup (HW 120 v3.1 & Trackstar 8.5) in my B4.2 than I do in my T5m and my B4.2 would kick it's butt in a drag race. I don't have the punch to clear some of our jumps, where I have ZERO issues in my B4.2. Maybe a gearing issue (stock spur, 19t pinion), maybe that motor is not enough for the truck, i dunno.. I do know i'm going to have to figure it out though. Slow rolling some of those jumps will murder my time.

A couple of you guys PM'd me about my "fancy spring rate tool". Good news, the price went down, here's the link:

Yeah, I think so too. Would a 6.5 be wayyyy too much? I have a 5.5 in my wheeler and it's almost insane.

7.5t motors seem to be a sweet spot for 2wd trucks in my opinion. Gives you plenty of room to gear down if needed or add some boost/timing when you need some extra speed. More than enough power for almost anyone in a 2wd truck.
I see more people changing the EPA on their radios to limit juice nowadays as well. With the new speed controls and brushless I don't think heat build up is as big an issue nowadays. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, noticed that you are in Vegas. Lived there for 18 years (moved away 8 years ago).. Funny how right after I move, Vegas gets like 3 nice RC tracks.. FML. haha

I am looking for a servo too. Any diff between spektrum s6040 vs savox 1258? savox spec is based on 6v. think my hobbywing 3.1 is less. not clear on voltage stuff, etc. Wondering what amount of torque we should be looking for per what voltage. thanks

I will be taking a trip to vegas soon just to hit the tracks!

I'm not sure why people hate on Savox so much. The 1258 is the best servo that you can buy for the money. Now that most escs have stronger built in BECs there are fewer and fewer cases of "brown-outs". So, the argument that they are power hungry is pretty weak now-a-days. Other than being noisy the 1258 and 1257 don't have major flaws at all.

Never had a single brownout except for way back when on an MMP. running older Tekin RS's and a new Orion R10 stock. Haven't had a single glitch! They are great servos for the $! The Proteks are great also!

We've got 2 tracks really, 702rcraceway which is a great indoor track and then of course the big outdoor RC Tracks Las Vegas next to the airport but that's geared towards 1/8th scale. They do have a 1/10th scale track but it's pretty loose traction i hear. Amazing facility though.
