Default Tamiya TRF503 Thread

So here it is

http://www.thercracer.com/2014/01/42...announced.html

Looks like a nice evolution of the 511

Also the new 2WD should be announced as well

Kind of surprised, figured they would have called it the TRF521. Not that the number designation counts for much! Either way, it's pretty much what I figured, just more refined and now with the Big Bores. Gonna have to get one when it comes out.

Someone was complaining that the Kyosho ZX-6 was going to be $600, I'm sure the 503 will be priced right up there with the Kyosho.

It does look really nice though, who doesn't love TRF stuff?

512 I mean the 503 looks sweet ! lol.... I wonder if anything was changed from the worlds prototype car ....

As far as the new 2wd it's the xr as a kit instead of just a conversion

It looks like it may be using a floating servo mount like the new touring cars use. It's hard to tell for sure because you can't get a good look at the servo side of the car, but you can see a carbon plate of some kind with the head of a screw exposed right where the servo would be mounted. If it is, wonder how well this will hold up in offroad, also appears they have narrowed the chassis more as well. Time will tell. I would imagine though that it will be priced the same as the 511 that it is replacing or not much more, so $480-$500. A bit cheaper than Kyosho still!

Yeah I would be nervous around a single servo mount point too as I never use those crappy horn servo savers!!

Seems identical to a Schumacher Kat K-1. Save the $200 and buy the Schuey
