Is the idler gear a 21T or 27T? On the manual's parts list, part number SER500166 is listed as 27T. But on Desoto or Amain's site and on the packaging pics, it's listed as 21T.

Hopefully the stock plastic idler gear holds up to mod motor use until the aluminum hop up version becomes available.

So I need to get an idler gear just to raise or lower the diff? Doesn't sound right. Guessing it's a typo in the manual. RM 27 and MM 21?

No the idler gears are all the same. The inserts move the gears up and down.

The stock gears hold up fine in mod.

Thanks

So it's 27T then and a packaging typo?

Or maybe RM=21T 3 gears and MM=27T four gear trans?

On A Main's site and Desoto's it's listed as 21T with the same part #. Just making sure.

It's the same part number for the RM and MM. I checked. I'm pretty sure they aren't the same size. They weren't for my Durango.

I have a RM and MM but can't say for sure if it's the same gear or not. I would expect the smaller idler gear in the MM transmission.

Yeah I have the manual and checked. But my question is about the discrepancy between what's on the manual and the info provided by online vendors. I wonder if it's a RM/MM thing.

Desoto shows for SRX2

500166 is 21t plastic

500260 is 27t almn

no designation about rm or mm and those are
the only 2 listed by them that I could find

the rm manual says the 500166 is 27t

Might be a typo on the number of teeth. I think the 21 is supposed to be 27. Part numbers are the same in both RM and MM kits, 500166.

A main also lists the 500166 as 21t

Ya, the package I have from Amain says 21t on it. But the tooth count is 27. This is on the 500166.
