I was sold on getting the RM serpent. But this MM has me changing my mind. We'll see if i make my mind up by winters end.

I drove an x-6^2 for 5 years and can't wait to get the serpent MM to compare the two. Hopefully I will get it soon, so I can get it all dialed in for Motorama.

2 more weeks. You can see them running in person at the CRCRC race this weekend.

Darn! I was hoping to have one for the Jconcepts Super Cup race a Space Coast on the 18th. Oh well at least I have a super dialed rm Spyder.

Erik, i think the RM in stock will still be ideal.

Why do you think that? I heard someone saying the Centro and the B5m may not be ideal for stock due to the weight of the aluminum chassis. I'm curious how much this guy is going to weigh.

Extra gear in the tranny, and still extra weight to get the same traction as rm. All speculation but running stock, I wont be buying one, because I don't see it being beneficial over the rm car.

Have you raced on the new layout at SCRC? Its designed for mid motor cars. All the fast guys in stock were running mm cars when I was there last week. Being that the mm Spyder is still using a composite chassis I dont see it being at a disadvantage for stock racing.

I am going this saturday to run the new layout, I am no fast guy regardless of motor location, so I stick with what I can drive most comfortably lol.

Whats most comfortable is key. I am gonna convert my car to inline electronics with a shorty to run stock at the Super Cup. I prefer the traditional esc /rx placement with full stick for mod.

shagino,

On the Spektrum layout, one racer in stock who was in the A-main(3rd or 4th finisher) ran a RM B4.2. He switched his car to the centro a week or so after, none of the JC upgrades, just the regular swap kit. The car was consistently .3-.4 tenths faster than his RM car AND 2 months after the race he was still running 18 lap runs which was only done by Josh with his RM Serpent in qualifying if memory serves me.

Some of it of course will be getting used to the layout and proper lines, etc... However, to have it immediately jump in time that quick after the race, I'd have no problem running it in stock

but like Captcha and others said, its definitely a comfort thing and how you like to drive

I haven't driven my Spyder at SCRC, but the Centro was definitely easier and faster than the B4.2 when I raced there several weeks ago.
