I can understand skepticism for the current craze, but this isn't completely new (maybe to off-road not involving oval), even as it's trendy now. I grew up racing converted, MM RC10's in a parking lot in the 90's - a mid-motor configuration, flat chassis, and pan car front end - we called them "tranny" cars.

Check out this thread with some Agitator pics!

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...onversion.html

We ran Agitators and then other flat chassis's when the (then) new Associated Pan Car front end came out.

Thanks again for the input guys. I agree it's all about weight distribution. They layout I have in mind would help. Battery is a lot closer to the weight of the motor so what if you could put it all the way forward and run the servo behind it using a set up something like the 22.4 does. In theory you could set up a chassis to use any and all of the battery configurations out there with this type of set up. (Including the new reedy square pack)

Anyway back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Cherry - why the untapered pistons? Is there a noticeable difference between tapered/untapered?

WC - also, did you add any washers to the bottom of your rear shocks to space them off of the arm and make the shocks stand more straight? Curious about your thoughts on the rear shock angle.

Everything moves freely with no binding - so adding a spacer for me would be purely to change the angle. I'm using the plastic shock bushings up top. I don't like the way the aluminum shock bushings rub on aluminum shock caps.

Crash

Just using one of the gold 4-40 lock nuts with a RTR shock bushing for space, then a .030 stud spacer & another lock nut to secure the shock.

Taper piston makes car more reactive & more resposisive.

Flat piston are smoother & less reactive.

Centro has plenty of steering & rotation.
Taper would only enhance both .

You should add these shims to out drives. This gear has just as much movement as top gear. 1 or 2 shims on each side

0.1MM Thick, 10MM ID, 16MM OD

Ready to pull the trigger on a c4.2, but I am worried that this is just a stopgap measure until the B5 comes out. With my luck I'd buy one, and a new buggy would be announced the next day. Has Associated hinted on a time frame for the B5?
