Default Restart

Picked up the Exotek chassis and doing a rebuild, hoping to get back on the track next week. During the rebuild, I had a brain fart. When installing the suspension a/b/c (dots) blocks, I’m not sure of the orientation of the “angle” on them. The manual doesn’t specify (or I can’t find it). I know, it’s a dumb question but want to make sure I get this thing back together correctly. Thx!

angle them towards the middle. like this:

\ MIDDLE /

if you are going to run a wire to the receiver that needs to go between the servo and the tranny mount, watch how it goes. a regular servo can bump the center diff mount. I have seen another drivers vehicle whose fit was too tight cause it to cut out.

Gota say the number 5 Ackerman really helped took a lot of twitchyness on the steering with the stock chassis. I made the wheelbase longer in the Rear that for sure made it more stable . Over the Bumps also im going to try a diffrent Rear camber link plate/hubs, to get more grip on exit corner on power diffrent tires of of course to .

Perfect, thanks! The rear hangers on the Front of the buggy were actually on backwards! This rebuild will be my new baseline moving forward. Should be an interesting race weekend!!

If your going Tekno be sure and get lots of A-Arms, hinge pins and diff out drives. Some people seem to be breaking parts like crazy. LOL

Well, this should be an interesting Sunday coming up. Just rebuilt the 413 and made some significant changes, the largest being the installation of the Exotek chassis. I also moved my VRP 3x1.3 pistons to the front and installed new 2x1.6 VRP pistons in the rear. 35wt up front and 30 in rear. Running 7/60/3 diff fluid (f/c/r). Changed rear arm suspension mount position, rear arm suspension spacers. Basically this is new buggy for me. The interesting part is that I will late to the race due to a conflict and I will have no practice time before I arrive (likely in time for Q2). Should be fun!! Lol.

Your buggy looks nice with that chassis.no top deck seems like a great idea. What motor? I have ran mine with all stock components at 6 club races/couple practice days and nothing has broken yet. 13.5 and 5.5. I thought I was kinda loosing out of the whole punch so I put diff lock in center.(does not say wieght on bottle)prob 500,000. Still has fair amount of give. with 5.5 I was getting wheelys. Had to turn epa down to 90%.little too fast. The sponsored drivers can still put down about 2 seconds a lap faster than me. I can only go to track every other week. I drilled my pistons front 1.6 40 rear 1.7 35. Prob gonna go up 5 wieght f/b. But whatever.

Well, my son’s hockey game was cancelled this morning, so I was able to make it to the track before the 1st qualifier. I put about 10 laps down in practice. Buggy felt much better in a washboard section with new chassis. I was pretty slow though in first q, and ran about a lap faster in 2nd q. Qualified in the A (8th out of 16 togak. Blah. ). Here’s the kicker, 7 out of 10 that made the A main were the new Tekno EB410s. They all looked pretty good on the track. Rear a little bouncy in the rough stuff, but other than that they looked good. My 413 was as suffering from a bit of push around corners. Off power steering was ok, but trying to accelerate around corners it pushes badly. I didn’t have my front sway bar on. Maybe that would have helped!! I really need to get some practice in. I’m running a 6.5 in this buggy, but still find trying to accelerate for a couple sets of doubles I have to really get on it to make it. Would upping the center diff help with punch when approaching the jumps?
