I guess it depends on his track too and or size of track, cause he also states it would be nice to have the power when needed.

I came from running 4x4 SCT & Ebuggy and this is my first 1/10 4w Buggy. The 7.5 felt perfect to get used to and it still had the power for 1/8 sized tracks. It kept me out of trouble learning and plenty of power to gear up as well.

Another choice would be an 8.5 and depending on the ESC you could add boost or timing to it. There are a few guys at our track running the Trackstar 120A ESC and motor combo and have added boost to it and the car does quite well.

6.5 with radio set at 75%. Still lots of power on tap for the big boy tracks

Both fun, both durable based on scale. 1:8 will as a rule hold up to more extreme "use" than 1:10. 1:8 also cost more for the same relative quality.

Bottom line, if you want to drive it like "hold my beer and watch this" (no offense to anybody, we all have or had that moment) then get the 1:8 buggy.

It is my understanding that it is common to run the wing in the low position when it is windy. Makes the car less sensitive to the wind.

It mainly changes the down force with the wing mounted like that.

Mine wanted to nosedive with the wing in the high position. When I lowered it, the buggy seemed to stay more level in the air. I'm thinking with the added weight of the Exotec mounts and Sworks wing, it might be just about perfect. Time to go place a couple orders.

It is just the design of that wing. Compromise as it is in more lower position with the mounts normal position.

Me too. I got a pair for the front when Tower had them in stock last week but still need another set for the rear and maybe a spare set, just in case.

Not sure why amain doesn't even seem to carry them.

At least I got some for the front though. Shocks popping off of the tower is the main problem I've had with the buggy. Couple steering links popped of as well. All of it was a result of crashing, of course.

Hmmm, I ordered two sets on 2/26 from Tower and received them Tuesday. They now show out of stock and early March. I guess all of the ones received have been sold out for now everywhere.

Looking into getting a 4wd buggy between this and a xray xb4. Reading through this thread and looking to purchase it seems that there is a major supply issue with part as well as kits for hotbodies is this common?
