When I built my diffs I put the shim on the diff side checked the backlash and it had virtually none. Installed the shim on the gear side checked it and it was perfect. Used some synthetic grease on the gears and called it done.

I don't know I wasn't really looking for a drag, but I'm sure it help if that what causes it.

what's the consensus for a better driving car on medium bite indoor clay?

shorty or saddle?

i shimmed the pinion so it fit tight on the geargiff then took out shim on the diff added mobil1 grease checked backlash and its perfect.but i do believe everones diffs should be shimmed to get them right per vehicle and rechecked after broke in..it made my drivetrain freed up also.

my front wheels are going foward and rear wheels are going in reverse any ideas whats wrong please help thanks
