~A few guys have stripped spur gears, and a couple have cracked rod end/ball cups.
It seems like Durability is not an issue at all.
2: No.
3: Tower keeps pushing their dates back for their retail customers... but in the past couple days it sounds like some of the NA LHS's are getting parts in.

Burning up a spur certainly isn't any fun, but without a slipper the spur is the intended "weak" spot in the drivetrain. I would certainly rather have it go than anything else in the drivetrain.
Let's assume you have been in RC long enough to know how to set a mesh. Are you 100% certain that there weren't any other factors that could have contributed to the spur getting stripped and it had to be the weakness of the spur?

I don't think a green hobbyist would have the knowhow to file down teeth to finish a race.
This car's kryptonite is the spur and I presume that not too far down the road a harder, more durable plastic must be introduced. Hell, I've been thinking about contacting my old supplier for the material I used for my paintball bolts which is a self lubricating plastic that's really tough. Plus, it'll add a touch of coolness to the spur.
Torrence, can you tell me what material is used for the spur via PM?

I haven't had a single issue with my spur yet (fingers crossed). I check all the motor mount screws, set screw, mesh and clean the spur/pinion after every run. So far none of the screws have even been slightly looser than I originally set them. Super curious as to what really is the culprit for folks having issues. I find it hard to believe that HB would make all the other plastics in the car so durable and miss something as important as the spur.
