You must be mistaken. Tekins don't go up in smoke. That's what people tell me at least.

Good thing though is I am sure Tekin will get your sorted, they have excellent customer service.
And it sounds like when you get a good RX8 Gen 2, they are durable, more so than the RX8 Gen 1 was.

Yup I run all novak. I have crushed the caps on 2 of them when I switched to tekno. There is not much room in these kits for the novak systems. I think I got it fixed now so no more crushing caps. I have thought about switching brands because these kits were designed for tekin systems. It is a very tight fit for my novak stuff.

That just sucks!!! You buy quality equipment and get crap like that. What's a guy supposed to do, buy the best or you think you do and it fails.... Hang in there it has to get better! Just asking when it comes to top of the line electronics what is the best, any body have an answer?

Honestly, all of the can fail.
The main thing I look for is how well the manufacturer stands behind the product relative to the price.
By that I mean, if I go in knowing that my ESC is less than half of what the top of the line guy is selling, and it performs as I need, I know that I am more willing to accept the fact that I may not get the service like the top of the line guy has.
An example of this would be my speed passion ESC from a warranty length to price comparison (I have had excellent custom service by the way from speed passion).
The Silver Arrow V2 has I beleive a 90 day warranty, but the price at the time I bought several was about $75 shipped brand new. Performance, worked great, no issues in 1/8 usage. I comparison to the more top of the line 1/8 ESCs that cost more than twice as much, I accepted that chances are such that it may not have all the bells and whistles they have.
All in all though, was quite happy with it other than the size. Heck I even had great luck in 1/8 E buggy with the castle MMP, go figure.
I have since gone to Viper as I liked the length of the warranty (6 months) price I got it for was not bad new and it had some features I wanted to try like the 8V BEC and waterproof setup. I also like they have profiles. Have been happy with the product.
All in all, you just got to find what best fits your budget and needs.
