Woohoo! Just expanded my TLR arsenal with a new 8ight-E 3.0! Going over the setup sheets and forums and looking for verification on product compatibility:

Which aluminum servo saver arm fits the E3?
Has the differential parts for the E3 changed? - More research indicates it has not.
Will the Aluminum Rear hubs and CV axles fit as well?

Looking forward to the build but going to take my time (it's so hard not to jump right in haha) as I'm already waiting on some hopups to arrive. Maybe I'll just start with the shocks. And who has the rear green springs in stock lol. My goto shops are out, not even eBay!

Does the Tekin rx8 gen2 come with long enough wire for the E 3.0? If I need to buy some, what gauge should I get?

Yes, the enclosed three wires (red, black and white -- all 12 gauge) are long enough, but the sensor wire that comes with the Tekin products is too short. And 12 gauge Wet Noodle wire by Deans is the best we've found if you feel the need to buy any for battery connectors or such.

On the SCTE 2.0, forward battery placement is great with a 550 motor, and this is mentioned in the setup, but what battery placement is working in the 3.0 buggy? We are running it forward for now (not shorties, by the way).

Thanks, I was was looking at that at A main. Can you recommend a sensor wire? I saw a TQ cable 275mm at A main. But, in the the description it mentioned being for 12th scale.

That TQ sensor wire (TQW2827) is perfect. It merely says "will not tweak 12th scale or pan cars" which is irrelevant to our application.

I second the wet noodles! I've also been using the tekin sensor cables; they do have a 275mm wire as well.

Default trouble!

Well I am having some trouble with setups for my 8Ight 3.0 e,

Running r8 pro and a 1750 on a smaller to medium indoor track

After 8 minutes of run time esc was 178 and motor was 168. Which seems a little bit of a lot to hot.

Changed from a 17t. to a 16t. pinion with no change in temperature.

Fan also broke while I was there, but the local track pro told me that the fan isn't needed in an r8 pro and he showed me his car, in which it was removed.

Are these temps safe or should I be worried??

your esc temps seem alittle high. mine usually peaks out around 125-130. im using the same esc also. i removed the fan. make sure the vents in the body are cut out. people seem to be afraid of motors hitting 160. my motor LOVES 170-180 temps. in fact it runs better warmer. unless your motor is over 200 i would never worry.

im also looking for a new body. yet nobody is making anything yet.

What are you running for a pinion in your buggy? I am quite worried about the esc temp. I am also wondering if the esc got this hot because the fan was broken and trying to turn? maybe causing extra heat? I am not sure.

Geared at a 16t seems about perfect for my track. maybe just not my esc?
