TLR 8IGHT E 3.0 THREAD

Did you have 4 screws holding it down and 3 straps? Mine looks very secure. I had to go to ebay to find a 5-40 tap for the screws. I just put a Tekin 1900 and rx8 g2 in this and it is insane fast. I had no idea what a beast this could be. I keep blowing tires off of it, really! This could make a great basher with those knobby tires!

I am in love with my 3.0.
The front hinge pins had a tightness through the first 3 packs, but have smoothed out since. I placed everything in battery forward position, but found it was too far off of L/R and F/R balance for my liking. With the battery mounted in the rear, but slid all the way forward, I put about 20g under the esc and 30g in the radio box made it much more balanced.
I used a set of AKA Moto pre-mounts that have held up quite well. I've mostly been in construction areas on loose dirt/rocks/etc. They throw plenty of stuff around and I haven't noticed any tears from more than a few full-throttle moments.
Love pic attached Oh - the in-flight stability is very nice also.

The handling is really good and I was jumping just fine with this, very predictable. I had some parts come loose last race, so I bought that gel Loctite in a tube, and it is awesome.

I was able to add another screw to the battery tray, so now I am only missing one, the front right, or fwd inbd. It seems very sturdy to me. I got a 5-40 tap off ebay and it works great. I put it in the drill after drilling a # 28 hole, and it went through like butter, so easy! I had a #16 pinion in it, and trying a 15 now. The 15 is much more punchy, and the 16 smoother. I just can't get over how fast the car is, and handles great. This is my first 4s, and lovin it!!

I didn't see much of an improvement in the handling with the mid battery position. But the track was a mess, so I need more testing, of course! If I need more steering, do I go up on the front diff oil, or down?

Hi there, I found a great tool for all European drivers, who only have metric tools. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html
It´s probably not the best quality, but it gets you started, especially when you don´t want to bring your entire toolbox to the track
It fits all screws on the Losi TLR 8ight E 3.0 and also has the metric system tools.

I had to trim mine to get it to fit right, but it did fit. Plus it's a lot lighter now(humor.) I lost some steering with the front battery mod, my diff oil is 7,7,3, any suggestions?

I moved mine FWD, and gained lots of steering.
5-7-3 in the diffs. Front camber links long/low.

Thanks guys. I have three of these cars and am using the third one I bought, and it doesn't seem to handle as well as the one I built, the first one. I will try the 5 in the front diff and check the arms also.

Just moved the camber links, and had to do a lot of adjusting as well, but it seemed a lot more stable. Can't wait to try this out!! Is it normal for the front end to come up easily on concrete? I mean I can easily flip it. Wheelie bars?

Hi guys, I just picked up a 8E 3.0 from a friend of mine. Going to go through and rebuild it and I have looked at some setup sheets for a baseline, but before I start, whats everyone like for shock oil, diff fluid, and ride height? Don't know a lot about 8th scale setups so anything else would help too. Thanks
