I have been running 4 poles since Castle introduced the original 3800, and havent looked back. I instantly loved the feel and power of it. I actually tried an older Tekin SC4X 4.5t last summer and it felt like a dog to me. Plenty of top end, but bottom to mid range were definitely lacking. I'm sure if I spent more time dicking around with timing and boost etc... I could have made it feel better, but why bother? I'm already comfortable with how the 4 poles drive, I know the gearing and what little bit of timing I add does for it. I like the "set it, and forget it" approach. One less thing for me to screw up!

Whats to tell ? Its Not exactly new.... Its a E 3.0 Rx box....takes a little grinding and fitting to mount but overall is a Way better solution to the Stock, No Rx box.

Are you gluing it to the chassis? Goop? Looks like a good fit. I just haven't taken the time to do this yet. Been taping mine for quick fix, but this looks like the better option.

I use shoe goo on the edges to prevent Dirt and crap getting down between the Original dirt guard and the box, You use the Stock Servo mount holes to mount the box but must trim away a decent chunk of the stock chassis guard to get the box so "sit down" flush with the chassis...look close at my pics and you'll see it when comparing to yours. Click on the + on the pic and you get a Super Blown up version. I must have taken these pics with my SLR.

Ha, yeah. I'm a stickler for units and completely missed that! I was looking for a degree sign on my phone, gave up, wrote it out and forgot the units. Since the OP wasn't concerned about his motor being too hot, I assumed he was talking deg F.

The part number & description is "Servo Mount, Top Brace: 8e 3.0 (TLR241004)" - if you look at the picture on Horizon's website it's easier to see how the whole unit mounts using the 4 screws for the existing servo mount. I cut out the bottom corner of the receiver box instead of taking too much off the mud guards - just wasn't sure how much the chassis uses the mud guards for support. Same thing, just sealed the bottom of the box with black RTV silicone.

The servo box mods posted look great. I also installed a rx box in my scte. I cut part of the side rail off and removed the side guards as I feel they aren't really needed. Just another option for people. Here's mine.

Side note: I installed rx boxes in my scte and ebuggy after a bad connection in the ebuggy caused a dnf in a heat race.

I can only assume fahrenheit. I used the tekin hot wire and downloaded the data. Pretty cool to see all the information graphed out.

I know it's not a new setup lol seeing that I've been running mine like this since I bought the first 2.0 two years ago or whenever it came out, but I had a 3.0e and I just tried it and it worked great with a little modding. I posted it bc all I saw on here was people using the associated box and other stuff so I just figured I'd share it to help the ones that have never seen it, just trying to help. I think it looks a lot cleaner than some boxes I've seen and it's easy and looks good if you take the time to do it right

If you grind the side rail down and trim a little off by the front bolt on area and I grind the bottom of the box some too then I cut my side rail so that it's still right next to the chassis, I'm not a fan of glue so I later used a small button head screw and nut and ran it thru the box and it being a black screw you can't even see it on my other scte, and on the second mount hole I use a small flush mount screw and a nut on the top side and snug it all up and it hold up great! The kit comes with the long Ackerman bar. The short one is optional and is sold with the long Ackerman bar (LOSB2279). But I'd get the Vision racing one that has bearings instead. I'm not much into "upgrades" but this does take a bit of slop out, they're nice. http://visionracing.net/product-cate.../tlr-ten-scte/
