Thanks Guys! Question though. I have read through th eforum and this car seems quite durable. Is there any hop ups that everyone recommends? Spare parts to have on hand? Etc?

Get the option springs for tuning. All the carbon hopups are unneeded but looke very good. For spares get an extra set or cvds, front steering knuckles and front and rear a arms... I would also get the swaybars....

I have broken the pre updated front steering knuckles and a front cvd which was from hitting a steel fence on the back side of a bid double... Lol

Sounds good. I see that this has gear diffs. Are they smooth? I am used to ball diffs and never cared much for gear diffs. Also are they sealed for tuning?

They are the best 1/10 gear diffs i have ever had my hands on. They are sealed, dont leak, are very smooth and machined not cast. Changing diff oils in this buggy is very easy. The diff housing cover comes off with 6 screw. I literally takes a minuet to get the diffs out.

What kind of surface are you running on?

I will be bashing a bit , but my local track is indoors and the surface is a rubber composite sheeting with plywood ramps. The only tires that get traction are Clay compound and they wear fairly fast to me.

One question I do have though. Wheels. These use 14mm hex...and everyone else uses 12mm. Do they make an adapter????

I have not seen or tried to convert to a different hex style since the 14mm hub and nut are so robust and holds so much better than a typical wheel nut.
Amain sells the sworkz rims, they are cheap and stout....

I ask as I am looking at availability.....with the track I will be running one, clay tires are th eonly thing that works (Rubber track) and they wear quick. So, replacing the wheels will be frequent.

Do Durango wheels fit? They (local track/shop) handles them.

I dont think anyone makes a 14mm conversion for any car. its very unpopular. 12mm is the standard for the most part.

Thats what I am loking to do...go from 14 to 12 so wheels are easy to get locally.
I may have to machine them down myself.

honestly, I have often wondered why someone does not make conversion hexes. I am sure the rango guys would love to be able to slap on 12mm rear wheels without massive modding. On the front though it can get to be difficult to maintain the proper width. The TLR22/B4/RB6 rear wheel offset is very popular, but the front offsets not so much. Even more so in 4x4. I wanted to put 12mm AE wheels on my tlr22 front, but after looking at it, I could see I would never be able to maintain the same width. Good luck and if you can make them for a good price, maybe you could sell a few.

I have an 8-axis table top mill. I was just looking at modifying the stock ones so they would fit into a readily available wheel. I may have to bore the center of the wheel out to accept the larger center though. A handy dandy reamer would work nicely for that.

your going to modify a 12mm hex to worth with 14mm wheels? yeah, I dont get how a mill can add material. Something is lost in translation.
