Just the clip.

Recommend using both the grub & clip ..

Clip can come loose easy , CVA also rubs arm on hard landings and zip there goes the clip ...

New test
I am going to try the car with a MIP CVD instead of the Ae CVA .

Heard you can find extra steering with the CVD ,
less binding using the CVD..

That's the opposite with cvd's

More forward bite on throttle... Only truly noticeable when you punch it coming on to straights.

Which kit servo horn goes with Spektrum servos??? I have found where the servo is 23t, however I can find no information on how many splines each horn has. Anyone know where I can find the splines of the kit horns?

Savox has the same tooth count as Futaba. In the kit manual it references the Futaba Horn as Horn F. Use that one. 25 tooth.

Spektrum is JR horn. Savox makes several of the spektrum servos but with 23t horn.

Agreed. There is a chance of binding using both. Follow the book

I would take it a part and look for anything a miss. The put it back together, put the wheels on with no pinion attached. put the car on a stand and spin both wheels at the same time in the same direction and see if it does it. Also, compress the suspension a little to get the bones level and give it a good spin. I say bones level, because that should eliminate and cva bind/rubbing.

How you know dat? JR made/makes all the cheaper Spektrum servos. I would think the higher quality stuff would come from them as well. Not saying your wrong....

The spektrum 6040 I believe is a 1258 with a 23t spline, and their shorty servo (6070?) is a 1251. I don't think savox OEM's their higher end servos like the 9100.

I don't work at the facility that makes them, but I'd have to disagree. Besides having the same specs, if they were truly the "same servo" just with a different spline, the 6040 would be much louder and almost always require a cap or external bec like the 1258. I rarely hear of a 6040 causing any glitching or brown out issues. The 3 6040 servos that I run are very quiet and have never given me a single issue, and that's running with a Spektrum radio and used to run a MMP esc (with no issues). Not saying I feel the 1258 is crap. I'm just not convinced that they're the same servo.

Hideeho
If your running a dsm2 receiver with the mmp & a 1258 you don't need a cap either. That's what I run. If you set your end points properly & have no bind in the steering a savox is only marginally louder than anything else. 6040=1258

My 6040 is definitely quieter than either of my 1258's. IMO not the same servo.
