Which springs are recommended to help the nose diving?

Been using the Hot Bodies springs where I can. I like the fact that for there rates, they are shorter springs so I can run a low ride height if needed. Grey fronts and rears are popular from them, and pretty cheap relative to other springs.

AE Front RC8 springs can work on the truck too. But the rears are a bit long given the weight of the vehicle so ride height can be an issue.

I cant wait to try them. I was checking out all of the PRO 4 trucks and the winner Matt Olsen MIP has air guards on his ride. Plus the top three finishers in the PRO 4 a main driving tekno sct410 trucks had these exact carbon fiber air guards on their trucks. All of them seemed to fly through the air very consistent and low to the ground.

Top drivers will win regardless of if everything on the truck makes sense. In huge jump and/or windy conditions I guarantee you don't want them. On indoor tracks or ones with small jumps and no wind I actually like them because they keep more dirt out.

Those top PRO'S test and test to have every extra edge. I have no doubt they all tested those air guards and they were working on that track. SDRC is a medium to large indoor track with small to medium jumps.

Possibly, but many places don't allow for body modification beyond wheel clearance issues. If where you race allows this, certainly might be easier.

If you cannot vent the body that does make things challenging. Not venting the body and running the air guards is a recipe for lift off with big jumps and any kind of wind. :). In most cases the truck is heavy enough vent body and air guards don't matter except that the air guards keep dirt out and might flow air better under the truck when on the ground equalling more stable handling.

I have no doubt you are correct about them testing to get the extra edge. And as I stated, indoor tracks with no wind will not see the negative effect of the air guards.

Curious if anyone has emailed Tekno lately? I've sent them multiple emails over the last month looking to discuss sponsorship consideration, both to their "team manager" email as well as their "info" email, and no responses.
The facility we race at is strong with Team Assoc and Losi sponsorships, and currently there is little presence with Tekno there, but I'm looking to change that.
Maybe "no response" is Teknos way of telling me to "get bent"???
I'm just from the school where you at least respond to someone whether you want to or not.
I'm gonna give them benefit of the doubt that maybe they've been experiencing "email problems" for the last month......

I run Tekno's EB48 and have no complaints, handles great and the build quality and CS is unbeatable, I also run a TLR 2.0 in 4x4SC against 3 or 4 SCT410's every week and 1 or 2 of them have beat me a couple of times indoor w/all that steering they have... Although when I watch the sct410 go around a rough outdoor track they LOOK alot smoother than anything else. Until I get beat every week by one, I'll say it's a toss up.
I have also put in time w/Durango,AE,Jammin and have to say that none of these compair to the Tekno or Losi.
On the spring rates, I would think there would be a big difference in sct410/scte springs since tekno's are all 1/8 size.

Have you tried calling them?

I guess to me if I find my emails aren't getting through or being responded to, better to just call. Heck, they may even like that as it gives them a chance to get a feel for how you are as a person before offering sponsorship.

I'm sure Tekno's strait out right now being the middle of the busy season. The questions ur asking probably need more than one O.K. I would give it a little more time before u get discouraged.

I think these will only work on indoor tracks.
I saw a film on youtube from somebody testing the Tekno air-guards on a big 1/8 outdoor track.
It made the parachute-effect a lot worse, and finally he removed the air-guards.

Yep, I agree. They look sweet though, don't get me wrong.

teknorc: whats the final word on the air guards and when to use them?

That's definitely good advice--one of my problems is I'm not overly aggressive with this sort of stuff so shooting out a couple of emails seemed the like the best way to broach the subject.

I looked at those--sure wish someone would make 'em out of quality carbon fiber--no offense but those things are butt-ugly!!! :D
