The Kyosho 1.3's were good, but when I went to the Tekno 8 X 1.4's the truck has great pack (Bench test, 12"-16" drop, and no chassis slap), but was also good in the whoop section. My truck has never felt so dialed. I also put the 2.6mm rear sway bar, and 2.4mm front sway bar in as well.

Last night I ran times at my local track that were better that most of the 8th scales. Granted, it's a small indoor track with a 10 sec lap times being very good. I've only seen a couple of 9.9's, which were all EB48's, but I was turning 10.3's with the SCT last night on Matt Wolters setup. I did use Hot Bodies Beams with AKA foams though. I really felt good about the truck for the first time.

I run the same as Matt Wolter setup except for HB springs (grays all 4) and a bit different sway bars and droop/height. The tekno machined pistons are better than the kyoshos. Soaks jumps better and almost same pack also because of the more precise fit and thicker piston causing oil to be channeled a bit longer than the thinner kyoshos (IMO not scientific fact ).

I agree. But the problem is a lot of these guys are running "non-standard" parts on their trucks...Kyosho, Fiorini pistons...HB springs, Kyosho springs, this that and the other. Makes it difficult to do exact copies of setups.

I think alot of it spring wise, is trying to find that right spring rate that works, regardless of who makes the spring and when some of them are out of stock or back ordered, then people turn to find other 16mm springs to use.

Yea trying to buy springs to match a setup can be difficult and frustrating.

Make sure the shocks don't have any restriction using any kind of material in there. If that binds it up, your suspension will not move freely. Remove bottom screw from the arm and move the shock to check for any binding.
If Tekno found the shocks to work better with material in there, it would have came with it. My guess is your binding up your suspension.

This truck will make a little more noise than the Losi or Durango or Associated. There are 1/8 scale gears moving in there. Also a mod1 pinion and spur are a little louder than Durango's and Associated's 32 pitch gears. Just make sure the mesh is correct and don't worry about the noise. The gears will also get quieter after you run it for a day or so which it sounds like you noticed.

As for the new HD servo spring, are people seeing a need for it on the SCT410 as well or is this mainly an EB48 thing?

People have said Losi/Novak and other brand pinions are much quieter in the truck. Worth a try, I will be trying one myself 'cause my truck is also loud(er than most). Also, you can put shock o-rings in the center drive shaft outdrives to keep the shaft from banging back and forth.
