Now, for the weird: (fyi, these were not what stopped my race. Those were other things) TEKNO, Please take a look. http://imageshack.us/a/img820/3588/20130130183634.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img267/6891/20130130230442.jpg Anyone experienced any of those pics? The ball is imbedded into the servo saver armlet. Very interesting. Did not stop the car from driving, just isn't "right". The Shock Cup is just fkn weird. For the spring and spring perch - that's a first, never seen that before. Does it happen all the time? Faulty spring or spring perch? You're right, it's weird. Unrelated, but can't stress enough how much better the truck will be with the shock boots. Your shocks will stay 10 times better if you run the boots. |

For the pivot ball, put a washer underneath. That should solve that.

So I just wanted to alert to the possible problem with that. I put a washer on it already and it works fine with a longer screw. No worries, just wanted to 'heads up'. Go to bed, Tekno! haha. |

I don't have this happen to me but I have washers between the plastic and end ball (see below, spacers are there to level the arm) is it possible you over torque it?

Congrats on the win! Sound like you have Mike's number right now. I got to drive with Mike on Monday...he was out screwing around, but I did get a couple good laps with him and the Tekno was looking good. I really don't think you want the Tekno...just go ahead an sell it once it arrives...give the other guys in the class a chance! Stay with the 'rango. You'll be even more lethal with the Tekno. |
I know some of these are old, but I wanted to respond. Now i'm 100% up to date and want to Be a rolling part of this truck's future.

In your signature I noticed Top Gear Hobbies. That's where I picked up my kit if it's the one in Clackamas OR.

running 3mm offset wheels there is no clearance issue but i guess that the truck will be too wide, i have a set from my sc104x4, i will try them and see how they fit...anyway i enjoyed the build...:D

It was said before but I think you guys will find that thicker diff fluids work better in these on medium to high bite indoor tracks. Outdoor, maybe 3k rear?
I'm running 7/7/5 and will go to 10 center next time I'm out with my Mugen only to try something different but happy with current setup. Different truck, yes... my rear end is pretty locked in so maybe your fluids will differ and you will be better with 10/7/5. But the good thing is it just takes a few minutes to pull the diffs and try out different setups at the track :D

long story short, you get the girl because of a $4 wire and 5 minutes  --------------- On other things. - I'm just not sure i'm comfortable paying 25.00$ for a set of pistons. CNC'd or not, I just don't think i'm going to be able to come to justify that price, ever. - Springs are a littly spendy, but i'm sure more true, set to set than some others... - Sway's are priced right. - Your AL is just a smidge over typical pricing. I know you guys aren't AE, but You've sold thousands of these things now and we 'want' to support you. Thoughts? |
If anyone is interested. I run on a track with little to no traction, hard packed with light dust on top, fluff on the outside. I had a lot of loose rear end for a while. I got that s*** locked down. Rear hubs forward, no anti squat, camber links in on hubs, inside top on tower, took out all the droop. I had so much rear traction this thing pushed like a dump truck.....I smiled the whole time, it was loose on my for weeks (i don't get a lot of test and tune time). Moved the camber links down in tower, swept the front arms forward, went back to 100% on dual rate, 2000k in rear. Holy crap was this thing on fire.
Let a better drive squeeze on it, all i kept saying was "I didn't know it could do that, I didn't know it could do that". I can make pretty good laps, but he was killing it. Gonna try 5/10/2 next. That's what i run in my EB48, it's nice. |
Post #1 has been updated. Thanks Matt! If there is anything missing or anything you feel needs to be added let us know.

(maximum down travel) You should fill out a setup sheet and post it, or email it to me! lol |
