JB, pretty sure you dont want any timing on that motor.
I'm not running any on mine in the Led Sled

that setting came from Ricky so I'm going to stick with it. I believe that originally might of come from a Billy suggestion.

I'm was driving the truck pretty hard to put as much distance between Ricky and I that I could. Wish I had someone record it. I would definitely say I'm faster with this truck than my AE.

Just ordered a HW 4700kv motor from falconsekido for ~$85 shipped after 5% coupon. Figured I would pick up a new motor for my new SCT410. Anyone notice that HW stuff from falconsekido now has a 180 day warranty. That is cool. Tekin/Novak/LRP/etc, are you listening...

Hey, if it works for ya, go with it!
I always heard that 4 poles dont need timing, and they just make excess heat with it, so i've always stayed away from it.

First race day today. First time even on track was 1sr qual. I had to glue tires so I didn't get any practice in.
Bottom line, overall verdict, undetermined. I made several relatively minor changes throughout the day and "that feel" is ever so close now. I even tapped a couple 16sec laps in the 3rd qual, which I never even got into the 16s with my previous ride.
That is a Tekno converted AE RC8.2E bug, further converted to run as SC. So I know the potential is there. Ultimately, I truly believe I made the wrong choice in tires. In the past, I've run Pressue Points or Wishbones and was very happy with them. Why I chose different for the 410 is, now, :weird: beyond me :weird: . So I chose Suburbs. Only reason I didn't buy a second set, either the JC or AKA mentioned previously, is simply because my shop had no other wheels in stock, LOL. He had one set of TLR 22SCT, and a couple sets of JC Hazards. I grabbed the TLR. I believe I've read of folks having problems with the Hazzards on the 410, so I chose not to take the chance.
So I need more time, but am fairly confident I will get there. Looking fwd to next Sun! I have a vid of my main. There were 13 4w Mod SCs total. We ran 7/6 heats and main, no bumps. I just managed a good enough run to get 7th overall, for last spot in the A and finished 6th. The camera guy didn't follow me completely as I had asked, but still has some footage. I should have it posted sometime tomorrow.
The build was good. I wouldn't say Brand K quality, but better than others I have worked with. I had some binding on all inner pins, so a bit of reaming was in order there. Shock parts on trees? Sorry, but I am a bit disappointed in that. I had to spend quite a fair amount of time trimming/sanding to make me happy. Front shocks were good, had to re-do the rears a few times to get em where I wanted. Part of this was due to a "Homer" moment. I used the bladders, and installed the O-Ring on top, which is only supposed to be used with the Eshocks. It took a couple read throughs, but I finally noticed that and fixed it.
- Cain - I also stripped that same motor screw. Tekno, perhaps look into this please? I, however, got lucky and it was JUST loose enough I could remove/replace.
At this time, I am happy with the 410. I definitely am pleased with my purchase, as well as all of the other Tekno products I've used in the previous 4 yrs or so. Hoping with a simple tire change next Sun, I'll be right back to where I am now with my previous ride. :)))

The only downer all day was I somehow managed to snap an outer-rear hinge pin, at the threads :( One of the set up changes I made which made the 410 better, was to move rear hubs from stock/manual to full fwd position. It was while attempting this that that happened.

Tekno Website

How about a Wishlist feature on the website?

I tend to do my shopping/perusing in between projects at work and it'd be nice if the site saved it.

I think at this point Ricky and I are both looking forward to PNB. I need it to be fast and last the 10 minutes without stressing whether I'll finish the heat or not. I'd say right now with my 6500mah battery I may be able to do 8.5 minutes before the speed falls significantly but I haven't timed it yet.

Going to try a 14t and possibly 100C/6900mah Revtech and see if I can up to 11-12 minutes driving normally.

So can anyone explain to me what springs I have? I have pink markings, but the website doesn't show any. And the replacement parts list shows "gray".

Are the pinks a last minute parts swap they did and there is no part # yet?
------------

So from what i'm seeing right now. Droop, shock weight, sways, and diff are needing a large change for indoor. I am going to run stock wed on a brand new layout (bad timing purchase since I will have no constant from last ride and layout. no big deal though) then go from there to purchases.

Picked up AL hexes, dustguards, and AL shock collars already though.

Motors in stock but combo is not for whatever reason... in California, they go fast.

Great Combo, I use the 4700kv motor

Were you using a ball driver or a straight hex driver? I was using my MIP Thorp ball driver and didn't expect it to strip like it did. In general the quality of the screws have been excellent. I pulled it and slotted the screw and got it out no sweat. I plan to use a straight hex driver from now on in that place. Even saved the screw for use on something else.

From what I can tell here:

http://www.teknorc.com/tekno5/wp-con...pringChart.jpg

They went with a stiffer spring. For what I need (indoor carpet) most likely need a stiffer spring and thicker oil. I am going to play with that and see how it feels next week monday at the Jam session.

I ordered a variety of springs to try, but mainly HB ones based on the rates I saw and prices and the lengths available. The RC8 front springs though from what I can tell can still work on the front end, but the rears are too long at this weight.

Cain - can you shoot a picture of the motor screw you stripped?

I don't think they like high timing, but I think when people say that, they mean all the 4-poles w/o adjustable timing on the can. My Trinity is one notch from 0 on the can. Centered I believe is 12 degrees. I have my esc increase timing from 0 to 14 from 10K to 30K rpm. And it rips with that timing, and is nice down low without it.

With a Pro4, Tenshock, or HW you have less to play with because it's already advanced and isn't adjustable. Mine's only at about 16 degrees total at 30K+ rpm, which is probably near where the others are already on the can. But you have to run it like that through the whole rpm range.

Bertrand498 01-27-2013 08:12 PM

The pink springs are one step above the black springs. They are the lightest springs for the eb48. We found that the truck handled better with a heavier spring so we made a last minute change.
