Yes it comes with shock boots. Don't know anything about axle boots.

I think when I get home and work on the truck again tonight I am going to reverse the screw direction for the ones that hold the rear camber link to the the shock tower, would be easier then to make camber link changes. Anyone else notice this?

Tonight's the night to finish the build!

Good point Cain. We will look into this as well. If it works out better perhaps we'll change the instructions for the next production run. Thanks.

Here is my race last night. I qualified 3rd (red/white truck) but threw away the main on the first lap, and continued to drive horribly after that, but I'll swallow my pride and post it for the sake of more SCT410 footage in the hands of your average club racer...

If I drove my Losi like that, I would have been on the lid twice as much.

No prob. All in all its been an excellent build with excellent parts. They feel highly durable but have the rigidity you would want from a racing vehicle. I am going to try the vehicle without boiling anything either. with the temps being lower here, can report on how it goes.

By the way do you tekno guys recommend a 4mm wrench for the turnbuckles? Right now lucked out that I had some little cheap 4mm / 5mm wrench to use as my trusty lunsford stuff doesn't work.

was thinking of this one:

Associated Factory Team Turnbuckle 4mm Wrench 4x4

but if there is another that does a great job for the money, would look at that too.

I use a little open ended 4mm craftsman wrench

I asked and everyone said "Losi x1000000000000000" but not sure where to get them. My local track ordered one for me. In the meantime a 4mm Traxxas one is ok for now.

So far the Hudy wrench and the HobbyKing wrenches are the best we've tested.

Wed night racing...I drove like crap, but took home the win thanks to how forgiving this thing is. The track was weird and pretty much all of the trucks were stepping out on the rear end on power (and I had the same setup that I had run the week prior, stock except for middle anti-squat and full droop...which had been locked down). For reference, the red/white truck you see is a durango, the flame/white truck is a mip losi, and I'm the all yellow.

I've been using one of these for turnbuckles and don't find any issues, even when using it at an angle from the side.

Looks like it jumps very nicely, and has fast cornering speed on those 180s also

Btw, a question that's been nagging at me, what were the reasons that the shocks had to be an overall shorter length on the truck? 5mm difference? Is it ROAR or something?

Anyone know the answer to this?

The shocks are the same length as the buggy's, only the springs are a little shorter.

Great Job! Cool Track! I like the way it flows.

Our little track used to flow better till everyone b!tched that it was too boring puttering around it with 17.5's, so they added off-camber mountains to the inside of the hairpins. I hate those things.

They are tearing it up this Sunday and putting in a new layout. I'm anxious to find out what they come up with. Hopefully not a bunch of Mickey Mouse off-camber do-dads. If I wanted to do that I would have bought a Crawler.

justpoet 01-24-2013 01:54 PM

I've only been to one track where I had to hit offcamber stuff on a regular basis, but it was just 1 corner section (2 corners in a row). I liked it as a feature on the track, but definitely wouldn't want them all over the place. Hope you get a good layout. :)
