Assuming the ESC can really supply its published 5A @ 7V (Viper's specs don't say what voltage their amp rating is for), it still seems like it's cutting it close on paper. Especially if there are amp spikes beyond 3.5A in transit while moving that heavy rack and bumping a pipe or something, and possibly more so if under acceleration when supply might dip below 5A.

Just curious before I do any additional wiring to jump power to the servo from the battery (got my truck today, so starting my build). I'll be running Trinity 6900 mah 100C batteries, so no concerns w/ lack of current into the ESC. I'd like to keep the wiring as simple as possible while still avoiding brown-outs, but I'll probably just jump the power to the servo to be safe unless someone reports running that setup without issue.

I had the desc410. Love the car, except for 2 things. Uncontrollable at very high speeds and the very hard to get the rear end to stick at very high speeds. Durability, i really didn't have much of an issue like the other desc410 owners. I am sure the tekno will be more durable. I am hoping the rear sticks better than the desc410. I am sure the steering should be just as good as the desc410.

The sbec voltage on a vtx8 is set at 6.0v and can be turned up if needed. Do you have the pro gauge? If not this is a valuable tool and very easy to use and transport.
