That's in the range that most are using, try go up 2.5 or even 5 in oil weight F&R while your waiting for your springs to come.

Love my four wheel truck and seeing some of the prices on the sale thread decided to pick up another. Im going to 100k in center diff remove the front center shaft, diff, axles and just leave the stubs in and make mine a 2 wheel drive truck. Might end up having to lock up the center diff completely. But cant wait to give this a shot. 2 and 4 wheel tekno sc trucks.

We'll the big 1/8th scale track I go to got canceled because of rain and ice so I went east to a great small outdoor track I run. I had changed to (for the 1/8th scale track) yellow f with 37.5 oil and red r with 32.5 oil, 9 x 1.20 pistons and it handled great. No huge jumps to test nose dive but so far the best this truck has handled.. It weighs in at 7.5lb so the heavy springs and more pac made a big difference.
I was surprised that it did so well on a tight small track..
Maybe next week if the weather goes right I can test it out at the Big track....

Not so sure that idea will work but if I was to try It I would be putting the heaviest grease I could find in it

Why not just use shoe goo?

Sorry for late reply. Emulsion- I build them by filling shock body with oil, let bubbles rise and get out (your standard step to all shocks), have shaft all the way down, top off with oil till it's at brim, put a lil in shock cap, screw on shock cap, then slowly push shaft all the way upwards pushing excess oil and bubbles out, wipe excess off drain hole, install screw (set screw, button head, flat head with oring....your preference. Bladder vented I build using stock aluminum caps or plastic caps with bleeders holes drilled and top vent hole, fill shock body, let bubbles rise and get out, push shaft up till it's about 5mm or so below bottom cartridge guide, install cap (with bladder already in cap) by turning till oil starts coming out of bleeder holes, continue turning 1/8 or so at a time letting oil continue to flow out, I keep doing this slowly till I can start to feel the bladder start to touch and oil stops coming out. Hand tighten then give it a lil snug with ape shock tool, done. Hope I explained well.....on a side note a lil trick I learned when filling up shock is to have piston half way up, fill shock till it gets close to top, then tip the shock so the air under the shock goes to high side then slowly pull shaft down and you will see the air come out of high side, by the time you get to bottome you will find there are few bubbles, pull shock up and down in small amount of oil inside making sure you don't go higher then the oil. Let sit for a sec and the bubbles will rise quicker because there is less distance for them to travel, then top off with rest of oil. This process can save you a 5 min waiting period of having shock oil raise to the top taking forever. I've always had good luck with this method and can put on my caps immediately after because no bubbles are present........ok rambling done ;)

+1 that's exactly how to do it

JB Weld instead of diff fluid otherwise it will diff out to the front. Not much I would think, just enough to get the gears locked in but still be able to pull the assembly. Have heard of it being done, but never seen it.

I've heard of using silly putty in the diff to lock it up

Jtipsy 01-05-2014 12:00 PM

Yeah been reading someone make a 1 000 000 weight that is million cst. Used for locking up diffs on drift cars. Put silly putty is what i have been messaged to use as it is easy to clean out if needed to be.

Make sure you have some slack in the motor wire, they look a little short. I had mine too short and it caused the end bell to break off the 4300 after a weekend at a PNB style track.

Someone gave me that tip and I didn't listen and learned the hard way!
