The AE FActory Team B44.2 Thread

How much better is the B44.2 over the .1? Does the Avid chassis kit improve much for outdoor use? Was thinking of just converting a .1 with the Avid kit instead of buying a new .2. Thoughts?

I am looking at upgrading my B44.2 with the Avid chassis for outdoor use. It has been said that it offers more stable handling especially on larger tracks. I would definitely upgrade you B44.1 but you will need the center top plate and slipper shaft as well as either the VTS slipper or Avid slipper spacer to complete the conversion.

Hi, just looking for any advice, our B44.2 is doing well in race trim, our only problem is it is a little bouncy in the back end on a rough out door off road track,
I was thinking of either going up in oil weight or changing piston hole size.
Any ideas or knowledge would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Hi I'm using 35 weight oil front & rear.
1.6 front piston
1.7 rear piston
and standard springs front & rear (black i think)
The bouncy is skimming over the bumps, but the rear is bouncing up of the bumps,
The shocks are not bottoming out,
thanks

What's a good amount of ballast for an indoor track Med-high grip using the standard chassis? The person I bought it from seemed to thing 70 grams was appropriate, but it pushes and chassis slaps to no end with that much.

From my experience, it will chassis slap with or without unless you downside big jumps. I use half ballast with black front w/35wt 1.6 & green rear w/32.5 1.7 and have to overshoot and not get any of the tripples downside at all to slap. Find any of the downside and it drops in like mustard hitting a hotdog

im at 35wt 1.6 red front, and 30wt 1.4 green rear and NO ballast, and i havent had my b44.2 chassis slap, it has cased jumps tho :P
on my b4.2 when it chassis slapped it normally ment the rear shocks had lost some rebound, softening the damping.

I am running the following on a medium sized, low traction, bumpy track at cold temps (<50deg)
Front:
Gray Spring
1.6 piston
30wt oil
Rear:
Green Spring
1.8 piston (drilled)
25wt
No ballast and Reedy 5700 saddle packs (266gms) with the spacer forward (batery as far back as possible. I am also running RPM Arms and silver rear sway bar only.
The car runs great in this set-up and I have even carried this to a higher bite, warmer track with a tire change and it was fairly good with a little push.
Tires: I was running Panther Rattler rears and Double Dees in front on low traction with good feel. I would like to try Panther Raptors all around. On the higher bite I was running Panther Switch rear and Bobcat fronts.

Was wondering if anybody could tell me the difference in length between the B4 cva bones and the B44 cva bones (rear). There are 2 separate part numbers and I cant remember which one is longer/shorter. Thanks
