I'm going to try these in my Schumachers. I currently have the MIP pistons on my RB6 and LOVE it. The car glides over the rough stuff.

Got to run my rb6 last night needs a little more on power steering. Running basically the zach Rogers set up. Anyone else had this issue? Or any ideas I may be over looking I was on miss matched rubber beams rear ions front. I'm thinking when I go to ions on all corners I should be good

I would love to use a 3rd channel to move the battery forward and back during a race. This radiopost has the perfect thumb wheel for it. Would take some engineering to make it light yet strong enough to support a battery.

Try lowering your front droop by a hair... Maybe half a turn on the eyelet.

I'm not really sure if spindle height would act the same... It might.

When I first put on the ZR setup (exactly), it pushed like a freight train. I lowered the front droop by turning the front shock eyelets in a little bit and it immediately drove like a slot car. If you're close, I would say half a turn should do the trick.

So I'm hearing rumors of a 3 gear transmission to help the RB6 at the Yatabe Worlds and wondering how things may translate down to my medium/high bite dirt world. At Yatabe I assume the K boys will be running the 3 gear and gear diffs. I know Jason Diaz ran home brewed 3 gear at Cactus on the high bite there. I'm pretty happy with my 4 gear tranny at OCRC. Anybody have any insight on how high bitey things need to be to justify going 3 gear? Maybe low-medium bite 4 gear with ball diff, high-ish bite 3 gear with ball diff, and very high bite 3 gear with gear diff?

For a little competition perspective, the new Yokomo YZ-2 sticks with 4 year but the B5M guys seem to be jumping on the 3 gear.

I've been trying 3 gear the last few weeks. Im not 100% confident mine is built correctly in regards to binding, but my thoughts are this:

A lot more low end power
Rear end stays flatter
Rear end stays flatter so you have to put more grip in the rear
Breaking is AWESOME
Jumping takes a bit to get used to but its pretty good (you stay in throttle a little quicker)
Lighter, so it changes the weight distribution

For stock racing, I believe to be almost essential. For mod, if you have the grip then I think it is a good option for you. At a track like mine, grip is up and down and when its up 3 gear is great. When it goes down you wish you had some more rear bite.

It will be a nice option when it comes out.

Wouldn't a 3 gear increase the ability to rotate the car in the air or am I thinking backwards..

Thanks for the thoughts K_King. Something to keep an eye on and think about.

With regard to the 3 gear I think K_King has covered most of the points but I'll add;

When you have side bite the corner speed is much higher than with a 4 gear so you don't have to jump on the gas as hard as you would hence you don't notice the loss of forward drive that is there with a 3 gear from low speeds.

When really slippery (I'm talking wet astroturf which makes most loamy dirt surfaces look positively high bite) I've found that the 3 gear can be BETTER than a 4 gear as you don't struggle for front end thus carry more corner speed so don't need to be as aggressive with the throttle!

When chasing grip with the 3 gear I've found stiffening the rear anti-sway bar and softening the spring helps a lot as it helps the car squat without becoming too soft in roll.
The brass RF block also helps the 3 gear setup a lot more than the 4 gear.

The 3 gear car is also FAR less sensitive to front droop adjustments in terms of on-power steering but far more responsive to it in terms of rearward weight transfer to generate forward drive so there is another tool to help generate traction.

You can run it sideways but you have to cut the plastic side rails. The battery will sit up off the center of the chassis if you don't grind it.

Default Ball Diff Build

Whats Up All!!!
New RB6 owner.
Working my build right now and I've built a bunch of kits but I'm having a hell of a time with the ball diff. Built to the instructions every step of the way down to having the washers in the correct direction but the diff wont diff. I turn it all the way in it gets to lock, I back it out a but and I turn one outdrive the other doesn't move (no diff action). I've carried out the whole process a couple times now and no luck so I thought I'd try you kind folks!
Any input is much appreciated!!!

Kevin
