Just curious, are those of you who are running the battery sideways running a 17.5 class or are you running modified?

The reason why I ask is that I find it interesting that a lot of people with the B5M, who are racing 17.5, are modifying their cars to allow the batter to be in-line. I don't know if the mod guys are doing this or not.

Thank you to those who sent pictures of their side pods, very helpful.

Hopefully Kyosho will come out with a side ways battery chassis and side pod package.
My son did his with a dremel, locks good.

I have a mill in my garage. I can mill out the chassis for people if they want the clean machined look . But it aint going to be for free.

Mod - I'd guess in mod vs 17.5, more weight is needed on the rear of the car to get the traction needed to drive out of the corner. 17.5T might not be as harsh on the rear tires when coming out of the corner, so less weight needed on the rear, want more steering so in-line would shift CG slightly forward, possibly avoiding issue of needing to add weight to the front of the car ... all speculation though! I've never run 17.5T so don't really know

Has anyone managed to mount a fan onto the motor plate in a mid motor config? I've been contemplating it, but not sure if it'll fit with the standard body.
I was thinking I could dremel a recess into the motor guard and fit an ESC sized fan, but was wondering if anyone had managed the next size up?

Default Trying to convert to midmotorrrr

Hey guys I unfortunately bought my rb6 used and did come with all the extra pieces and none of the mid motor parts. I am trying to compile a list of everything so I can order it at once. So can ya guys look it over and let me know if I am looking over anything..thanks in advance

UM722 Rear Shock stay (MM)
UM723 Gear Box Set (MM)(Comes with motor guard)
UM724 Rear Bulkhead (MM)
UM725 Rear Bumper (MM)
UM726 Suspension Holder Set (MM)
2x BRG001TS Flourine Shield Bearing 5x10x4 (idle gear bearings)
UM125 Idler gear shaft

Have I forgotten anything?? And another question I have is do I need any extra bolts or is pretty straight forward take out of rear motor parts and put in mid motor parts? I can only hope its that simple lol

Thanks for the help!

Would anyone who runs competitive stock 17.5 upload a pic or recommend a electronic setup? Also, what gearing on smaller tracks do you recommend as a starting point. I have been fairly lax with my setup and it is costing me. Currently running 69/31 running electronics like tebo 2013.

Pic attached: servo, ESC, battery, motor. Always had a problem with oversteer with the RB6 so moving the battery back helped a bit. Also running 69/31 with R1Wurks motor @ 30 degrees. Gets to about 155F after 6 minute heat.
