has anyone found metal shims to replace ALL of the factory plastics, preferably red?
Kyosho makes aluminum washers/spacers in 1, 2 and 3mm thicknesses, in a couple colors:

W0145 - 3x7x1 Blue
W0144 - 3x7x2 Blue
W0143 - 3x7x3 Blue

For each of those numbers, tack on a "R" for red, or "GM" for Gunmetal. Example: W0145GM is a 3x7x1 Gunmetal. I'm not able to find the 3mm in red, but I don't think any 3mm collars are used on the RB6 at all.

I prefer to stick with the plastic washers for the suspension components because they're slipperier and less prone to binding, but the aluminum washers for ball stud adjustments since they are stronger and don't vary, and since they're not rotating parts they won't wear the plastic parts that they are touching.

Well I read this before I got my kit and just put the shocks on. A: the manual says the shock bushings are 5.8mm, but all the ones in the kit are 4.8mm. B: If you tighten down the plastic nut all it will do is strip. Anyone actually measure the shock bushings and or get the correct ones? Surely if you use metal nuts you could compress them so there is less slop but I'd prefer to have the correct ones

Yeah I could not get it to work with the plastic nuts. I had to use alum nuts to get it to compress correctly.

You have the correct bushings... you just need to use a nut that expands the bushing, instead of stripping.

Then either the manual is wrong or the correct nuts are not in the kit. Either way its incorrect. I'll switch nuts for now, but would really want the correct size bushing.

Based on what I am seeing in the manual and the exploded diagram, the bushing is the same as the one that goes in the shock ends also goes in the shock caps as well.

not yet, but:

Complete transmission
Complete shocks
Rear hinge pin carriers for rear motor config
servo mounts, but not horns
screws
shims
bearings
rear arms if you like
rear carriers
turnbuckles
ball cups
ball studs
need to measure front arms, but I'm sure you could probably put the sp2 or WC front end on it
front bumper
rear wing mount
wings
CVDs
wheel hexes
hinge pins I'm pretty sure front and rear
front axles if you prefer

I know some guys are running the RB5 SP2 rear arms like tebo.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head

Technically you'll need to use metal locknuts to get the shock bushing to expand. It's supposed to be loose on the shock cap, and I thought it was wrong too during initial assembly, but it's the way it should be. Just use some M3 locknuts and put an extra 1mm plastic spacer on to evenly compress the shock cap bushing. Just don't over-tighten the M3 nut, the shock should twist freely.

I guess you guys missed the point. A. its not correct in the manual either the part is supposed to be 5.8mm or there should be explanation in the manual to use a metal nut which is not in the kit(and I do read english and japanese), so how could you complete the car without the nuts. IMHO, there should be 5.8mm shock bushings not what others have used as a work around by compressing 4.8mm. Sure it works, but is it right for a $450 kit??? ahhhh no.
