Cool. I like to keep all my electronics the same but have been eyeing the fantom. I know Brandon loves his and that is good enough for me.

i just don't want to pay premium for a lipo and then have it get torched by $30 cheaper cells.. but i also don't want Venoms in my car.

I run mod so it makes even less of an argument for me to get the best pack.

Here is what I use to rebuild my shocks... the only thing you will use will be the blue xrings. At 2 bucks for 2 shocks (Use 2 blue xrings per shock, 4 come in each bag... two bags needed for the whole car), the price can't be beat, and they are noticeably smoother than the stock rings... 0 leak, 0 bind, 100 smooth.

True in one-regard, that you don't necessarily need the punchiest pack... BUT, even in mod, you want a pack that delivers a constant voltage as it is loaded up (as consistent as it can be, anyway). If the voltage of a pack is inconsistent the more you work it, the less consistent your power will be, which is bad even in mod. Predictable power is important regardless of motor.

How heavy is everyone's 17.5 blinky setup? I haven't really paid any attention to the weight of mine, wondering if I should...

Iv run most of the cheaper packs, as well as talked to all my fellow racers who used to run them but now run the Fantoms after I guided 'em to them, and everybody I talk to reports the same thing after switching... no contest.

Same price as stormerhobbies... the best part about dealing with Fantom directly, is if there is ever an issue with a battery or motor, if you call them up, the owner of the company answers the phone himself, and they are fantastic at taking care of their customers.

(edit: not that stormer or amain doesn't, but often times with those things you are directed to the manufacturer... and dealing with a small man operation can be far better than going to a large manufacturer. The same reason why Tekin is so amazing with their customer service over the larger companies like LRP).
