While we're on the subject of Avid products.... anyone use their solid axle pins? they are only a few bucks more than the FT ones but come in a pack of 10 versus a bag of 4 from AE.

ordered the factory team bellcrank, the price is right. But shortly after i ordered it, i didnt realize I need bearings for it, so i ordered those to.

The used spring set I ordered from a forum member here came in, so I won't go big bore for a while.

My next upgrade is between the ball diff or axles. Associated or MIP on the axles?

I'm still using the stock ones. :)

Got my 2 lipo packs in today with balance charger.

Now I am figuring out the best way to set this up in the car.

I suppose the best setup is to chop off the deans plug on the esc and solder prongs that plug straight into the battery correct? Im new to lipo and balance charging (I know the small white connector plugs into the balance side of the charger). There is a small red plug on the esc , does that go to the battery? When i used nimh, it didnt plug into anything.

edit: i bought deans plugs that i was going to connect to the battery harness. but that leaves that balance plug to float around in the car?

The small red plug is to power a fan for the ESC, You will need to leave the white balance tap installed for balance charging.
I would recommend getting a Male/Female set of deans plugs for your lipo and charger. Make it more standard instead of those knock off plugs.

Banana plugs directly into the lipo is fine but.. you plug in in backwards one time and boom, puff of smoke. Not all lipos have the positive and negative terminals on the same side of the lipo. Just to be safe I would stick with connections.

and yes, you just let the balance plug flop around lol.

thanks guys! I got some deans plugs I will go ahead and solder on after trimming down the battery wiring a little bit.

I was thinking about also shortening the battery wiring on the esc about 3/4 to an inch, think its worth doing?

It wont hurt,it will lower the resistance in the wire. Just leave yourself enough room to locate your lipo in other positions on the chassis. (by moving the foam spacers front and back) That is one of the huge tuning factors on the SC10.

The joys of cleaning up after yard bashing =( lol

I just got all new pieces installed, the body mounts line up pretty much exactly as the OEM RTR ones, I didn't have to alter the holes on the RTR body at all.

Sc10 upgrade.

Cheers everyone, quick question:

Can you upgrade a SC10 RS to a version 2 just by getting the shock tower, front arms, bulk head, spindles and castor blocks?

Your input greatly appreciated.

Part #. Would be great if it can be done.

hypertek 06-30-2013 01:05 AM

You can call it whatever you want. But don't forget the bigbore shocks/springs, turn buckles, the ft screws and other minor stuff. Look at the rs and 10.2 manuals on the associated website and see some of the parts are a little different. But no big deal imo, they are all the same truck just different revisions.
