The EB48.2 is a great build, durable, comes with a lot of upgrades. Only thing I would make sure you get is a aluminum servo horn. And welcome!

I agree, the eb48 and the 48.2 are both great durable buggies. and set up to race right out of the box. as long as you use the book setup

oh but get the aluminum servo horn. as a testament to the durability i bought a used 1 and just went through the set up- back to book and raced it with out putting anything into it and been getting great results. still haven't warn anything out on a used race buggy.

im even looking for a 2nd one now because my son wants 1 now.

That's a good choice. FTW and JConcepts make bodies for the EB48 as well.

FTW is slightly thinner, but seems to hold up well. The JConcepts isn't bad, but a huge pain IMO to cut out all the vent holes.

Want to feel even better about your Tekno buggy?

Great interview with Daniel Lewis:

Great car. Even better business history and philosophy.

Default steering servo?

im looking to buy my first buggy and of course its going to be a tekno eb48.2. im having a hard time deciding on a steering servo. what does everybody use? I will have a budget of 70.00-100.00 for a servo. I have a futaba 4pl radio and will be running a tekin gen2 rx8 speed control. thanks

I have been using the JC finisher. I recently cut off the body post and I am only using velcro on the side pods to hold the body on. I have never had a body come off ad they are lasting a LONG time as they really do not come in contact with the ground in case of a hard hit.

HS-7955TG is my go-to, hard to be performance wise, and is incredibly durable. It's also spec'd to go higher BEC, so you can run it at 7.4v on the RX8g2. I run it almost exclusively on all my vehicles, including throttle and servo (in the end much easier as I have to only keep one spare for everything).
