I would be much happier running a spring than not running one to save my servo from my driving style :P
Disregard thought you meant shock springs.

guys.. I think that i'll be forced to buy a Tekin motor and esc for my new tekno. I got no experience what so ever with these types of motors. the only thing i'd been advised is to buy the 1900kv as long as i'm going to run
6S lipo all the time.

got 3 questions :

1. what is the exact motor/esc combo of tekin 1900kv I should get ( a link would be appreciated ).

2. does it comes pre wired between the esc and the motor or requires special soldiering method ?

3. does the esc to battery wires comes pre installed with deans connectors or should I buy a set ?

That motor is best suited to a 4s system and is a great power plant for the buggy, the motor combo needs all connections to be soldered between motor and esc and battery connection. You will need to get some deans plugs if that is how you are joining to the battery.

Does anyone have the dimensions on the battery tray? Also I know the tekin 1900kv on 4s is the best but my question is would it be better to run the buggy on 5s or 6s with like a 1550kv or 1400kv? would it run cooler, more controllable etc? or should I stick with 4s?

Me personally I like the 2050Kv motor for the vehicle. a bit better range of pinions as far as not needing monster sized ones for the tracks I run on out here, it also has a bit more grunt to it than the 1900Kv motor. Not nuts, but enough to punch over some of the shorter run up jumps than what I recall the 1900Kv motor was able to do.

As for ESCs, etc. Gonna use the speed passion Silver Arrow V2 (Thanks MattP!). When in stock, at around $70 shipped new its hard to beat, cheaper to replace than some out of warranty replacement costs for other ESCs.

I have to say though, that new Viper 1/8 ESC is very intriguing. Has a 1 year warranty, water proof, and I like how everything is layed out, especially how the wires come out of the ESC and appear to be replaceable, plug and play.

As for what voltage is better to run, more voltage with lower Kv is more efficient. going 4S will keep you ROAR legal if that matters at all at the tracks you run at.

If you are a tower member, its $335 minus $50. or, just become a member and take essentially $40 off. ($9.99 for 1 year membership)

yes. i'm a tower member since 2007 . they'll give it to me with a $75 discount . That's $260 . I think it's a good deal.

what makes me hesitate is that I was planning to get the mamba monster 2200kv but it's out of stock at tower . I knew this motor for years . it's really one tough motor and esc. I ran it always on 6S w/o any issues.

is this tekin redline 1400kv reliable for 15min bashing a time before stop ?

I just ordered my eb48 with the tekin rx8 1900kv. I am going to run on 4 cell. I decided that I am going to try that new viper esc when its is available in my eight t-e on 5-6 cell due to the weight of a truggy, because it can run 7.4V! to my servo and is waterproof, year warranty!
This is my very first buggy. I am a novice driver, hope its not to much for me my truggy just felt like training wheels and riding on a cloud that never turned sharp enough but is still fun.
What gearing are you running for normal size smaller tracks? 16t or 17t? it is 45t spur right? Also what steering servo should I get? I have a savox in my eight and it browns out even with the capacitor...really pissing me off and I dont want ext BEC wires. I was thinking the ko propo response its like .07 and 200oz at 6v, or he hitec 7940, or futaba s9352 ? what do you guys advice?

Tekin's 1/8 scale motors are very reliable. I have been quite happy with them, and I also run castle motors too. If castle would make a sensored motor and a new more powerful MMP, watch out.
