I know that Tekno is working on their distributors for markets outside of the US, but i'm not sure if there is anything solid or whether there will be kits from the first batch available for these distributors. That would be a good question for mr tekno

Diff ring and pinion are CNC machined hardened steel like you would see from any of the top manufacturers.

It shouldn't be the same built quality but to me you're right the buggy is a bit overpriced. Especially in Europe where it should be sold around 520€ (680$..). I don't doubt about Tekno quality, testings, choices etc.. But it's very rare that a buggy coming from a brand doing it's very first buggy sells with such a price tag here. I was talking about it with JP which is the local distributor and he's quite sceptic because shipping costs and taxes make it so expensive for the European market. In comparison a NEXX8 is 250€, a MBX6 430€ as well as the last Durango.. A 450€ price tag would have been fine but over 500€ is too much IMO, even if it might be the best one. I don't say it doesn't worth it, I'm just sceptic about his succes on the european market. No doubt Mugen, Losi, Xray will com with improved brushless buggies in the future and take it for what it is but clients are quite concerned about a brand's reputation made in the long term. To spend a lot of bucks most of us will do it more easily on a brand that has sold many buggies in the past which is not the case of Tekno. As I said to me it's the best looking buggy on the market, by far. But I think 520€ for Europe is too much to make it a hit. Sometimes you should rather sell something 2,50 dollars than 3 so that the biggest sales make the overall benefit in $$ and reputation bigger for the company. This price tag isolates the EB48 even before it has been released.

i was looking at the tekno but then Im comparing both and Im like whats the massive difference , whats important is my prespective is as of your average buyer who mite just bash it at local tracks or maybe someone looking to get into competition
I think Tekno is banking on its name as the aftermarket big boy who makes all these you beaut conversion kits and or parts
without dribbling on my question to Tekno is why should I pay $200 extra for your buggy over say a duratrex buggy with similar specs ?
what are you giving me thats that massive a gap ?
cheers

There is a gap between a duratrax and tekno, of course. Just read the last pages of this thread and it will become clear. But it depends on how you estimate the value of this gap. I don't think one buggy can objectively be sold for two times more than another GOOD buggy. Look at the price of a NEXX8. We have a brushless national championship in Belgium and it finished 2nd for his first race yesterday, just behind Sebastien Wartelle and other good drivers. And it costs two times less than an EB48. How could you justify to a standard hobbyist the difference in price? Tekno is known as a conversion maker and can't be compared to Mugen or Xray in the minds of drivers, and we would like them to spend 100 more euros for a buggy which is the first of the brand? Hummmmmmm, we have a french fable saying: "The Frog Who Aspired to Become as Big as the Ox"
The Frog might be better but you would still trust the Ox more. I will buy an used Frog in the future if the Ox doesn't come out with a new release

ha ha ha very funny but true !
Ill just sit on the fence till Im convinced either way.
the interesting thing was a novice mate of mine purchased a RB One electric buggy RTR I got to drive it and mate it seriously went good out of the box and all for $640 aud
the RC world is sometimes confusing to the average joe !

The RB ONE might be the best RTR buggy on the market, even if I don't like RTR
The best local drivers tested it against a mugen eco, str8, losi and other buggies and...it won. They even gave them grades looking at their steering, acceleration, durability etc. A PRO kit will be released also
. I prefer the EB48 overall with its single lipo layout but in new I would have choosen an Hyper 9E for the price. It is very similar in design and provides excellent handling. Anyway I would have put 430€ for the EB48 but 520 is a no thanks. I have a converted JQ which is excellent and its replacement would have to be both reasonnably priced and better handling wise.
Anyway, the price looks like his only drawback for the moment
