With that setup, the buggy is less than 7lb .

The buggy is 7.5lb RTR with an RX8 system and a 600g battery, so ultra light setups are easily acheivable.

Depending on other items our current weight is around 7lbs even with all STOCK parts. So with the right equipment this Tekno buggy can be under 7 lbs if you were to swap out some stock parts and put in some after market parts when available. I dont know of another 1/8th electric buggy out there weighing in at 7lbs or less. We were running 3800 ProTek shorty lipos also. We were able to get around 8:30 runtime on the large outdoor track and around 11:30 on the smaller indoor track. Not bad at all with how Austin drives and I sure others could get a little longer. We're going to try a few other things Like the ProTek 4100 lipos and have this Tekno car dialed in.

Awesome!!! Thinking using mech brakes would add to even more run time so can run smaller lighter batteries too!! Would at least reduce heat and stress on motor

Do you have an pics of the body, is it going to a sleek body similar to other electric only cars or a cab forward design?

I'm really liking the look of this and I think I'll give it a try against my dex408, when it comes out......

I have a question (I have a dream too but somebody stole this sentence already)

So, the lipo is on one side. Great. BUT, many of us use lipos with 4200mah in 4S or 2650mah in 6S for racing. That means from 400 to 450g. I even have a lipo that weights 300g for the quals (6 min)

Considering a 1/8 motor weights from 350 to 400g, an ESC about 100g minimum, a servo about 60g, receiver 30g so up to 600g in total how will I manage to have a balanced car? Ahaaaaaa, and no I don't need a servo for the mechanical brakes to compensate I would rather use weights instead

This is a million dollar question, considering the EB48 is 0,00$ on the Tekno website I could buy a billion of them and offer them to all the big and little kids around the earth

The short answer is use a smaller motor. If you are saving ~200g on the battery (which is currently the heavy side), and then you save another 100g on the motor side (say a 2400kv Castle), your car is still very well balanced, but it is nearly 11oz lighter. If you were at 7.5lb with the 'heavy' setup outlined (RX8 system, 600g battery), your car would now way 6lb, 12oz. That's the same as a Losi SCTE out of the box (6lb, 12oz). These numbers are real .

Again, this buggy can be set up for almost any condition.

True, I think about a light setup since a long time so this might be the good occasion .

The EB48 looks so fast in the corners it's insane. It must be a hell of a fast car indoors too. I'm talking about it on different french-speaking forums as I'm quite enthousiast about this buggy and some guys are wondering about the tendency of the car to tilt on big jumps, looking at the vid. Do you have any explanation to this? To me it looks like it's so light and fast that it might be harder to control than some slower heavier cars, but I don't know if that makes any sense.

LOL, that's how Austin drives his cars! The car jumps straight as an arrow, as good or better than anything we've tested. But Austin is able to whip the car in the air to line up for the next turn. That's definitely what you're see there . Maybe Austin can chime in here and explain how he uses the whipping to his advantage.

Exactly , you can see him turning the front wheels to get the buggy to rotate in the air .
